So in a moment of what some might call madness, 56 hardened golfers ventured out in 43 degrees weather yesterday to play in a golf day sponsored by one of the golf clubs main supporters…….
As can be seen from the drone that was up yesterday the course is as dry as the proverbial….
Somehow me off 17 and my partner for the day off 25 managed to have 76 off the stick and ended up as runners up, we were lucky to end up in areas were you could take advantage of a preferred lie and combined well on the day…..

The golf course looks like that…… just stop and think what the surrounding farms look like….. it is horrendous

I really feel for those who have been smashed by the fires and what we all need is a couple of days of gentle soaking rain so if you can arrange it Santa it would be greatly appreciated …..

And for those who have been lucky enough to have had rain and have a lush green bigbutt, not here I haven’t been able to use a hose for two years, and are wondering what they can do for a weekend…… take a trip to the bush and see how bad it is, talk to the locals, spend a couple of dollars it would be appreciated by all…..

I feel for you and your community, Peg.

We don't have that problem here and while the paddocks are browning off, it's the natural summer dieback.

I hope you get rain from Santa. Best wishes.

Yes, it's very widespread, including much of Victoria. But not here.

FMD Peg...... there are times when I feel guilty using water to keep the course green when farmers are leaving the earth earlier than necessary due to years of now rain, money and crops..... these pics should be a reminder to all those that piss and moan about bad lies through the course to think about what they are complaining about...... God speed with the rain mate, hope you receive a little more than you need without unnecessary damage

Thanks mate

Your last part is the big worry, one day it will rain again but at what additional cost..... a torrential downpour will be devastating not only to club but surrounding area.... a couple of days of nice gentle soaking rain would be a godsend....

Playing golf at present is like a box of chocolates, you don't know how bad your lie is going to be for your next shot

There are a few in use at present....
I'm not sure about using it unless I can find a piece big enough to allow for the shite swing...
