I recently submitted 3 scorecards to gain an initial handicap.
See details of these 3 rounds below:
- DSR 78, Scratch Rating 75, Course Par 74, Gross Strokes 108 (34 over par)
- DSR 76, Scratch Rating 74, Course Par 74, Gross Strokes 111 (37 over par)
- DSR 76, Scratch Rating 74, Course Par 74, Gross Strokes 99 (25 over par)
All round were played at Liverpool Golf in NSW off women's red tees.
I was given an initial handicap of 31.6 but I can't seem to work out how this was calculated.
I'm following the instructions on Golf Australia's website (https://www.golf.org...3365-source.pdf) but they do not result in 31.6.
Can anyone explain how the above 3 rounds were calculated to an initial handicap of 31.6?
Thanks in advance!
Ummm I haven't done a new handicap for a while but when I did it last this was the instructions from Golf Aus.
The 1st 3 cards were processed as stroke
The player was only playing against the scratch rating for the course, No DSR involved
Stableford points for the 3 rounds as per instructions for processing a stroke round into golflink
That is say for your round of Gross 99 and your Stableford points for the day should be a minimum of 47 and the same applies for your other rounds...
Fredy (Effing ridiculous electronic device) does some magic and spits out your starting handicap....
Your 1st 3 cards are not counted in the system as rounds 1 - 3 for calculating your handicap, your 1st round with the recently allocated GA of 31.6 will be the 1st card of 1 - 20 for handicapping purposes....
So if in your 1st comp game of a daily handicap of 36 you play to the 3rd round quoted above you will blitz the field and your handicap will not be 36 the next day.......
For your information the link following is the current instructions for handicapping instructions
Hopefully that helps
Enjoy your first comp round Ms Bonnebell
