I've got the Cobra F7 3/4 Fairway in my bag alongside the Cobra F7 Driver.

I agree the 'baffler' rails on the fairway are good.

if you like the F7 versions, you will love the F9. I tried a F7 driver, but we didn't click. Then I tried a second hand F8 with a stiff flex shaft , which I liked more. I bribed myself to go back to work for 3 weeks out of retirement by selling off my F7 single length irons, my F8 driver and buying "new" F9 single length irons, a F9 driver and F9 3-4 wood.

At first I thought I had made a mistake with the driver shaft flex between the stiff F8 and regular F7; but now it is working very well. The F9 3-4 wood is a vast improvement over the F7 version with addiitonal distance and control. I kept the F7 hybrids 16-19/ 22-25 degrees as I was no better with the F9 versions.

I can spell reasonably well, even if in American at times. I cannot type well , so please look for the key I intended to use within one key of the strange one I used.

i just picked up a new Cobra Fly Z 5 wood for $119.  It seems like a nice 5 wood to hit.

Yep. Most people don't need 14 clubs. 12 degree driver, next club would then be 17+ degrees. I don't know if companies make a genuine offering for more lofted clubs. Your suggestion of a 3w shaft in a 5w head doesn't quite work because head weights and lie angles don't match up.

Some fairway wood brands have adapter systems that allow you to adjust the lie and some have interchangeable weights so it's easy if you select the correct club.

I play a Srixon Z F45 5 wood (19 deg) with a 43 inch 3 wood shaft, it goes long and high.

Also play a Srixon z45 3+ wood (13 deg) with a short 44 deg driver shaft, great as a second tee shot option and gives me a low, penetrating flight off the deck with lots of run. I can choke down on it an inch off the deck if a feel like it to get a standard 3 wood length.

Experimented with the inter-changeable weights to give me D5 swingweight (my preference).

Still have to execute a decent swing, equipment isn't a panacea for poor technique or lack of ability. :)

Update on the Cobra Fly Z 5 wood. I have it set to 17.5 degrees on the hosel. I have been getting about 175 m carry with it. Yesterday I got a total length shot of 193 m . I like it!

If only I could get a shot like that  every time BG.

Working on the theory that loft is my friend I set my F9 3-4 wood to 16 degrees and used it as a Driver for most of the round today. I hit 8/14 fairways , with misses L&R 21%.  Who needs a driver! According to Arccos  Caddie App my driving is  now at a 21.9 handicap level ( usually 30)

Ah! That might explain why I will never achieve  scratch level golfer status. LOL. Unless, of course, my skills in chipping get so good that I can get the ball within a metre of the hole every time, and I don't miss the putt. Nah! Unlikely.
