Just when you think Adam Scott is having a great round and getting himself back in it he goes ahead and misses a 2 foot putt

He's missed atleast 2 or 3 so far but I've seen several others miss similar putts too !

Doesn’t it just frustrate the shite out of you when he does this? He throws in a couple of these every tournament he plays in. Had a chance to shoot 62 today and butchered it. That being said, it was a great round. He’ll need two more to get even close to Koepka.

DJ, Speith and Brooks have also missed putts from inside 4 feet, is Adam in a different league or more obvious than the rest ?

He's most certainly an Aussie, but he's also a very poor putter at times, which grates on most of us because he has such a great full swing, only to be let down by the flat stick.

I don’t think there is anything more frustrating than missing 4 foot putts.
Adam would be more than aware he misses a few.
As a fan I hope he can work it out.
Chances are he will still miss them but hopefully not as many.

Stats are one thing, watching Scott stand over a 3 footer is another. When Jason Day’s got a 3 footer it’s as good as in, with Scott I’m nervous.
I’m a big Adam Scott fan, gotta be right up there as the complete package sportsman. Impeccable demeanour, well spoken and respectful....but frustrating to watch when he’s on a hot streak then goes and misses a 2 footer

What would an Average Joe shoot in tournament conditions at Bethpage Black? Pros say it wouldn’t be pretty

The general consensus of the pros they spoke with is that an average hacker has absolutely ZERO chance of breaking 100, or even 120. Sound crazy? Let’s break it down.

Koepka hanging on by the skin of his teeth, looks like he's terrified.

Will be interesting to see if Koepka can win a British Open.
It will probably need to be relatively wet conditions without much wind.
Probably the most awesome thing about Tiger (and Jack before him) was the multiple wins in the British, some of those in bone dry, windy conditions

I presume he will be favourite at The Open given the form he is in, his caddy is from Portrush and it gets pretty windy where he is from in Florida, whilst not Irish windy I would have no doubt he can handle it.

Hard to say whether today’s round saw him caught up in the moment or he was not as focused or the ghost of the kissing misses nearly brought him undone.
The Open is not a long and straight hit the greens and it stops type of golf.
I’d think Speith and Rose would be closer and DJ is also in form. Expect Tiger to bounce back as well.

Yep Mick. Imagine if Bethpage had fairways like last year at Carnoustie. Where would all have those booming high drives gone? At Bethpage they stopped where they landed

The USPGA loves to think its long and difficult yet hitting high fades that bounce and stop only happens on their courses. Imagine Brookes if his tee shots ran out right off the fairway 5 or 10 metres?

All he’d do is throttle back to a long iron and get the same result.

It's the same course for everyone - what's the point that's trying to be made?

His driving was exceptional and a large part of his strokes gained on the field. That would translate the same in different conditions - or is the argument that with any other club than driver everyone else would be fairway finders all of a sudden and there's no longer any gap?
