Fellow ISG Members,
I’ve just moved into the Mornington Peninsula area and after feedback on what’s the best course to look at joining. Anyone know of any membership specials on at the moment?

Regards,

Beaker

What's your location and budget for entry fee and subs? Portsea and PKG are 50 mins drive from each other. So depends how much time you want to be in the car.
And do you want somewhere to play once a week or multiple times?

If you are a self funded retiree with an income that can support $300 to $400 a month for Golf then lease a share or option for The National Golf Club. Trying this for 12 months will give you a choice of 4 courses and undeniably the best golf on The Peninsula.
If you are looking at less consider The Dunes at Rye or St Andrews Beach.
StAB is a long walk. The Dunes isn’t cheap either.

Hi beaker,
There are so many options depending on the type of course you prefer. Apart from national and sorrento you can get in the others straight away. I am a member at the dunes and the fees are not overly expensive. Cheap options are Bayview, safety beach, cerebus. Middle price is dunes, eagle ridge, flinders.

Thanks Sirhackalot. I read on the website that Dunes 7 Day membership is currently closed, is this correct? I played Flinders recently and thought it was a good course. My current membership doesn’t finish until end of June so I’m hoping to play a few of the Peninsula courses as I’m living in Dromana. Looking at Middle price courses as I don’t play enough to justify 4K a year.

Flinders is great until winter hits. Try Rosebud. 36 holes, good practice facilities and is just up the road.

Plus you get the honour of Deege to show you around.  That's if you want tree lined as opposed to wind swept. :)  Bwuddy nice course though.

The subscription year is the same as you are now and there is always spots available at the start of financial year. You would need to put your name down now but you would get in then no worries. If you want a hit pm me and I will take you down( $50 members guest rate on weekends) to see if you like it. Rosebud country club is about $500 more per year but they normally have some deals for memberships over the winter for no joining fee

Thanks Sirhackalot, I’ve got a bit on from now until Easter but if the offer is still on for a hit after Easter i’d take you upon it. Will probably try Rosebud too. I don’t play every week so the fees at Dunes and Rosebud are in my budget.
