Thank you Sammy for hosting us at Royal Sunshine.  The rain held off though we had a fair bit of wind, but all in all conditions were favourable.  I was in a group with Ari and Ink and some lovely golf was played by each of us at times, though Ari managed to actually string all the holes together and end up with 38 points (I think).

My day was a little inconsistent with some messy wipes disadvantaging me in the scoring stakes, so I ended up with 28 points for the day (which was actually slightly better than I thought I deserved).  Ink didn't score well overall but had some lovely holes, and at its best, his driving is very impressive.  Hope that all continues to come together cause when it does I think that the handicap will plummet.

I then had an extended lesson in first world problems when leaving the club I realised I had left my phone somewhere.  No joy at the pro shop or bar nor with a thorough search of the car.  They suggested I leave my number in case someone handed it in but I observed that ringing me wouldn't be terribly effective, but appointed Ghetto my secretary for all such alerts.  So I headed home to use my find my phone to see where it was.  No sooner than I had verified that it was still at the course I saw that I had a message from my PA to alert me that it had been handed in.  So it was back to the course again, complicated by me missing my exit and driving around in concentric circles for an hour trying to find the course from recognising milestones (being without my GPS and with no maps in the car).  A kind fellow in a service station gave me directions which saw me pick up my phone and head back home to arrive home after 11 or so hours on the go.

But the golf was fun.  Thanks for organising, it Ghetto.

I thought we could keep your phone debacle between us, but no, you had to go and tell the whole world.

I received two phone calls and a few text messages from the club which was very nice. Glad that we all had some fun.

Maybe Mt Derrimut could potentially put it's hands up as a Western Quadrant destination.

Course is ok, close enough and a damn good Kitchen with the operators in there.

Our tale of the tape, had my mate Peter join us (Has played a few ooms and last one with Iron Mick - we'll let the jury work out why Peter no longer wants to join us) and he had a shocking day coming back from a back injury with 28 points, Keg was in my group also and he played well with a 35, his driving went to crap every time Deege, Ari and Inky caught up with us on the tee.

I managed to string together a solid 37points hitting most fairways and just really couldn't chip close enough to score up a great round. Still infinitely happier than what I have been and considering it was 2 days after my second ever lesson, I think I did alright.

Didnt you also "misplace" your phone at Nationals on the last day on GC?

I agree with Sammy that it's the best option in the west for an OOM.  I could try to get Northern as well if an afternoon tee time was an option.

If I can win an OOM anyone can.

Unlike me, he can't play with constant, high pitched whining in his ear for the entire round.

I disagree
Way better places to play than that joint.
For eg Trentham is a cracking track.
Waaaaay better than the default setting (scum shine)
Fees would be minimal.

Scum shine Couldn’t even attract 7 people for a game.......
Half the Trentham dream team
