Also is anyone a member at Elanora or know one there? Any insights as to entry fee and course conditioning? I’ve heard it’s a gem.

Killara are still playing a restricted course so can't comment on what its going to look like, my understanding is that they are predominately redoing the greens. Needs to lose 1000s of trees and return the playing corridors otherwise I would expect I still wont like it as much as Avondale.

Haven’t. Played Avondale in quite some time. It was magnificent then and no reason to think it would be any different know. Maybe Halfer5 might get generous one day and lay on a members invite day for few of the local ISG faithful.
Elenor’s, yep Barnesy is your man as nobody else on here has had a look in as yet. Or none that I am aware of anyway.
Don’t quite know the filter doesn’t like **** but it is meant to be kikuyu.

Agree with PG regarding Concord. The removal of trees has opened the course up a bit but not necessarily taken anything away from the layout. Obviously is easier to work your way around the course, but as with any course - straight is great. The way they have done the greens and the lead in is very deceptive visually to the naked eye on length to pin, very effective visually as well. The fairways may be **** but they are like carpet.

As stated Concord is up and in good nick.
Killaras' works are very close to completion.
Our pennant team played Avondale a week ago - it's pristine

Has anyone got any insights as to how the recent golf course renovations have been going at the various courses around Sydney? Concord, Killara and Avondale have been upgraded over the past few years I believe.
Also is anyone a member at Elanora or know one there? Any insights as to entry fee and course conditioning? I’ve heard it’s a gem.
Elanora certainly is a gem..and in tip top condition right now with Club Champs under way. Practically every visitor I have spoken to after their game is in awe of the place.
Entry fee? You'll need to sacrifice your first born for a start....you need to be proposed and seconded by a current member first of all. It's not an easy process to join. The only way to get a run on the course is to be the guest of a member or a reciprocal member or....
....Interstate golfers can seek to play by forwarding a letter of introduction from their club, the committee will then decide whether or not to allow you to play. If successful then you will be coughing up a fee of $295.00 to walk the hallowed grounds.

We played Killara in Pennants a few weeks ago and the works are still very much underway. The opinion from the members was mid year is the likely timeframe for things opening back up.
Few holes are being flipped around to improve the flow and pretty much every green that i could see is being rebuilt along with all the surrounds. Maybe half the tee's are being rebuilt as well.
From what we could see through the construction its going to be pretty special once its all complete. But will have to wait a few months still to see how it turns out.
