Hi all,

As per title - I know members at all the clubs so that's not an issue - nor the $$ to join. I'm 26, play scratch (ish) and live lower north shore.

Played BD about 4/5 years ago and didn't really like it, super windy day and it wasn't in great knick. Heard the refurb has done wonders.

Played Avondale last week, impeccable condition and really loved the course/clubhouse.

Never jumped on Elanora - heard amazing things though.

If you had a choice, where'd you join?

For me choose the most accessible, ie which is closest to home / work. This alone increases the value and enjoyment

Just Counting my money. “I don’t care about that match point—would you care if you were 23 and worth over $10 million?”

Nothing is my fault!

I'm Granking!

I chose Avondale & joined just over 6 months ago. I think it's great, course is fantastic, members friendly, can just rock up & get a game, etc. (FYI I'd actually say that it was below its best last week as they are saving it a little for the amateur). BD is a good course but you'll get stuck in traffic for too long coming from the north. I didn't know anyone at Elanora so couldn't even get a sniff there, it is supposed to be the best course of the 3. Your other option that I did look at is Terry Hills but that didn't suit me, family wise, as there wasn't a junior program.

I reckon Avondale is a gem. The other bonus is Mark Paterson the pro there. Super bloke and very customer focused. I used to sell gear to him and if ever I wanted a hit there he’d arrange it with a member.

BD too far over the Bridge.  Avondale is a gorgeous club, lovely course, great folks but can be a tad hot in summer as it sits down in a valley

Elanora is up high and so has better air flow, but a bit further from you.

Toss a coin - all are top notch and all are far better places to be a member than the "big four"

Are you from Sydney?

Bonnie Doon is a doddle from around Nth Sydney on a Saturday, depends where the OP lives, he said Lower Nth Shore.

I've got a few mates who play at The Aussie, they live McMahons and Kirribilli, way easier than getting up to Avondale.

Problem I found was not on the weekend but if I wanted to go for 9 holes during the week after working from home it was a painful drive, perhaps I was just unlucky when I did my test run.

Yeah, mid week its gonna be an issue at times, need to leave the course prior to four and get there after 10.30. Even then, there's no guarantees.

Sydney, its just a pita joint to drive around.

Cheers thats extremely generous, hope to get there sometime this year. We have time sheet swaps with Avondale sometimes. But would be great to play with someone who knows the course
