Spade ever thought of taking the high ground instead of going for the low point all the time

... and that would have been an excellent opportunity for somebody to tell the world that the real life Spade isn't a complete knob.

Or it's not like he was telling us a little white fiblette, because you know, his credibility being on the line and all...

And still we don't know how his round with Deege went...

Nobody used the secret password, so we will never know if Spade is a knob or not.

I played with some lovely members, one of whom was very knew, having jumped on the introductory ladies membership for $490 deal that they have on at the moment.  One of the others was a members for 20 plus years.   Two out of three lived within 2km of the course.  They chatted a little about the new plan, saying it was inevitable and that the club couldn't go on.  I thought it was a decent crowd for a Sunday - people were hitting off from both tees and seemed to be doing so as we were leaving.

As for the place itself, I started by paying $5 for a bucket of balls and being "directed" to a driving range that I couldn't find for the life of me and which was not signposted.  I saw it later when we playing the course, so obviously I didn't venture far enough in the indicated direction "towards that big pine tree".  Super convenient to get to the course of course which was lovely.  The course itself was in decent if not outstanding condition.  The fairways were very patchy in places though they were playing preferred lies.  There were a couple of nice holes (memorably the 12th which was lovely), a few holes that I positively disliked (the 9th, the 1st) and very many that I now can't recall in any detail.  It didn't help I guess that I didn't have a particularly good scoring round, though I was hitting the ball okay.

The people I played with were perfectly lovely, but I don't know that I will get there again unless some local friends are looking for a hit.

The pie afterwards was excellent.

I don’t think we needed the password to make the “knob” call.
