Surely the 13th with the rock encrusted water hazard would be a certainty?
If you're picking the poster hole on the course, it would have to be the 15th, what a very special and stunning par 3 ?

Agreed. I'm not sure what I like most about it; the fake greenside mounding, the awful right hand side bunkering, the completely unnatural water hazard, or the fact that it is covered in duck **** for 300 days a year.

You appear to be insinuating that because Huntingdale is a tough course and with better conditioning it was better than other tier 1 courses and that because someone may not be able to break 90 at your course that they couldn't judge wether a course was good or not.

You obviously can’t play a fade!
Obviously too hard for you that’s why you are bagging the hole?
Most members at Huntingdale already now it’s been an issue. If you would like to donate $30k for a rebuild we would gladly accept?
Any player worth his salt can hit a fade, but it wouldn't make any difference on the 15th which is a woeful excuse for a golf hole and nothing to do with it's difficulty or otherwise. The old 15th was a much better hole. You should blow the back nine up and start again, of course you can't do that when you are broke and getting broker by the day...
Maybe you could merge with Rossdale, I hear they are looking for a bunny to take on their problems.

You idiot! You would be lucky to make 4 on that hole.
Signature hole used to be 12 until the left gum fell down.
I would say 11 is my signature hole.

Just my honest opinion, that’s why I joined.
If you have played the course you would know that our greens are overdue to be renovated, probably new grass “Pure distinction” would work well which we are using on putting green and 19th hole.

Not sure why they put the new grass on the practice green and not the rest of the course?? Last time I played there I was rapt with the putting green and then we had to putt on bumpy and patchy greens around the course?? Are the course greens any better this year??

Always amazing by the lack of love, or even downright hatred of Hungtindale. I confess i have never played it, but surely it cant be that bad? Is it simply that it is in a part of the world where the bar is set particularly high, or that it was famous in its day and perhaps got a bit above its station.
Im sure if it were in Sydney and had never hosted major events, it would be raved about

Ah, no.
It's a tough course, it was once nicknamed huntingball, that isn't particularly interesting or beautiful so it's not as sought after as a Kingston Heath and not relaxing enough for most club golfers. Hosting the Masters was genius and as a tough course it worked ok for tournament golf. The two most recognized Australian golf courses overseas are Royal Melbourne and Huntingdale. When you take away the Masters what do you have left in a competitive market? If a tough course is magnificent you have a solid business model. If a course is relaxing you have a solid business model. But just being tough is not much of a business model.

Well I dont know, it always looked good on tele. I think Melbournians are being a bit mean.
Just never bothered playing as its the only sandbelt club with which we dont have a recip agreement (perhaps that is telling) and Im too tight to pay.
You could try playing it before branding Melburnians *who have played it* as mean.
