I played Patterson River GC the other week, probably the best conditioned course I have played on. Greens were rolling true, fairways were the best I have seen anywhere. Got chatting to a member who said the clubs membership has been flying in the last 2 or so years. I think they will be the superior course in the area (if they aren’t already) Still letting non members play there for now but if membership increases like it has they will start to limit that.
I prefer kikuyu fairways normally but these fairways are awesome!

But they won't let me bring my own cart.
They even objected to a Parmaker ride-on at a charity event.

Its a nice course, but the club is suffering badly from low demand for memberships and having stacks of competition.

Surely being tight fisted is a sufficient reason for the club being forced to adapt their rules to the whim of the tight fisted.

They charge too much for their carts, taking the entire event outside my pensioner budget.

While I usually take with me a drink for on course, I participate in clubhouse refreshments afterwards.

Country courses welcome all, including those with limited resources.

Played at Patterson River again yesterday, $40 for a cart. Was told membership was at 800+ course great. Don't compare country courses to city courses with regards to price as there will be a disparity. Also played Sanctuary lakes GC 2 weeks ago, it's terrible whats going on there?

Recently heard that the course condition is really dismal at SL.  I think the club/members had thought the owners corp might (3,000 odd house lots in the OC) bail them out in the interests of preserving their real estate values but apparently they are not keen so SL could be in deep ****.

Played Pat river in the Good friday appeal day.

course was in good condition, good practice facilities and enjoyed the day and course.

Does it appeal for me to be a member there. ?  its 4 x current club membership for not much more gain.

That's the 2nd time I've heard something about SL (first was in Pennant a few weeks back) that there was a chance 9 holes will be sold off for more houses.
