I live in Alice Springs and there are heaps of Yanks here { pine Gap }
I play golf with some very cool yanks
They tell me you can only get on the course 1 time for the year and that if you pay to go see the Masters and thats it.
They also say the course is like a show room and the rough is like our fairways

I reckon I would have 15 on the first hole - I'd be that nervous. First time I played St Andrews it took me about 5 holes to get the ball in the air before I could swing (and breathe) properly.

Assuming the average Masters tour pro would have a handicap of +6 or + 7, I think I would be looking to try to shoot 80 or better on average if I got to play 4 rounds in a row. Scoring average this year was 71.264 so 10 shots above that would be a pretty good yardstick I think

Of the ones making the cut- +10 was last place after 4 rounds.

Well, pretty much all the pro's in that article, plus David Leadbetter, the low amateur, and the other golf people asked, all reckoned a 15 capper would play well to shoot 105 off the stick. Nett 90.

Must be close to the mark if they all reckoning that. And the fact there have been plenty of pro's themselves shoot 80 - 90. And they are used to fast greens, pressure, crowds etc. and have a whole better idea of course management than us choppers.

There would be shots there that many have never had to play before so exponentially probably be worse.

On the plus side tho, I've never backed a ball up with spin in my life. So I reckon I could do better than Sergio on 15 :D

I reckon I could cope off the tee; but knowing where to miss the green would be crucial - then once on the green where to minimise the chances of 3+ putting. If I could break 90* I'd be a very happy camper. * Off the members tees.
