First off I must apologise for not thanking all that made the effort to play today.

I know that many travelled to play from Sydney ,South Coast ,Interstate and Overseas.

Secondly to SnorkelGuru ,Flogg55,Groove_Snob,his young bloke and Detour for my group hitting up on a number of times.

I did not think it was funny but some in my group thought it was fun but I will not name or shame them.

To my group Peppas ,Charles Hill (Birthday Boy)and TWAPS had a great day and a few laughs.

Also thanks to Peppas and Commish for playing  at Toronto Country Club on Saturday I know you both really enjoy the day from your feed back.

To those who did not play bad luck maybe another time.

To the Flogg55 a great win.

Hope to catch up again on the South Coast in May.

Say No More.

Ahhhhhh, i love the Newcastle leg of our annual roster. So much fun to be had.....

Whoda thunk it, that as I drove past Morrisett on my way to Toronto Country Club I’d be turning around half hour later and driving the 10mins back there to play?!?!
I certainly didn’t think it!! ;)

Anyways, thanks to my playing partners, Flog, Detour and Snorkel for the day and for letting Cameron come around with us and have a few hits and a few putts here and there..... hope he wasn’t to much of a hindrance?? But without giving away the scores before the Cap’n does his write up, he obviously didn’t have to much of an effect on 2 of you!! :D
He had an absolute ball out there.........

I’m unlikely to be at the next few games (and there won’t be any other golf in the meantime either) but I’ll see what happens when the time comes..........

Had a wonderful day watching Peps and Charlie hit up on the group in front - one of the benefits of being in the last group :)

But seriously, Toronto Country Club looked magnificent in its new location at Morriset and it was great to be able to ruin Charlie's birthday with our company!!

Well done BS for a well organised and smoothly run day from the Newcastle chapter

Hope to see to lads at Port Kembla, great memories of that weekend from a couple years ago

A fun weekend.  Thanks BS for the round we did play at Tronno CC, I played like a busted but enjoyed the round immensely.  Thanks also to Pepps and Thuy for the company and being my chauffeur's later in the arvo.  Great to catch up with BK and his family later on for dinner.  Good day on the punt after golf with the wallet bolstered by a few good wins.

As for today, although they are slightly different in layout, Morriset has a close resemblance to Tronno in that they have 5,000 feckin trees and I found quite a few of them.  A big thanks to my playing partners Redneck Rob, soon to be Father Mulcahy and Mr Putts.  We all managed to chop our way around the course with some good shots, some not so good and some plain terrible stuff.  Can't believe I scored 34 pts with some of the s hit I served up out there today.

Thanks to BS for at least attempting to get a Newcastle leg organised.  Someone in the Pro shop needs a kick in the gonads though.   The normal accolades to Barnesy for his running of the day and a second hail to BS for his SOI trinkets.  Once again, he managed to provide 4 items for the lucky winners to take home that are absolutely farkin useless.  Well done sir on your ability to continue to surprise and surpass.

Congrats also to Flog55 for his win.. Glad he tanked the last 5 holes, otherwise it could have been really embarrassing for the rest of us.  Can't wait to see what happens when Greywolfe gets his real handicap..

Also, I know he won't read this but to the guy from the Pro Shop who did a marvelous job in getting us on the course to start with, explain what he required of us as a group in a very measured way and then to get around and compliment the group on a whole for exceeding his expectations on pace of play etc was a lesson that could be learnt from a lot of other Pro Shop staff.  If the Morriset  CC has the ability to post a review, he will get a glowing one.

Hope to see most, if not all of you at Port K in May.

Thanks to all for a fun day @ Toronto Morriset CC. My vote for the future NSW home base. At least they give a…$h!t about golfers and the greens are...green. Considering recent weather the course was pretty good. That layout has always been excellent

Not sure about divulging personal details on the forum, I heard that can have consequences?

Anyway, my chopping aside, it was great to see the gang again. Thanks to Pepps, TWAPS, & BS for the laughs and instructional encouragement to hit the ball without waiting or checking 1st.

Congrats to Flagg who was obviously in his element being able to whinge on someone elses’ behalf – good win sir!

See you all soon.

What a weekend.

Lots of fun from my end.

Took the family to Toronto on Friday arvo. Kids had a ball especially when they were allowed to take turn to stay behind the helm and be captain on the boat.

Catched up with Commish, Peps and his lovely gf, Thuy, for dinner on Saturday night.

On Sunday morning, upon my arrival at Toronto CC at 7:15 (for 8 am tee off), I was shocked to see such many cars that early in the morning,

There are about 50 golfers waiting to tee off, I said to myself ‘there is no way they can clear that many people before 8 am’. To make sure I’m in the right place I went into the proshop to check and after their confirmation, I let my chauffer go.

What happened afterwards was epic, we ended up playing Morriset CC as we couldn’t get on on time at Toronto. Credits to Morriset CC who can squeeze 4 groups in in such a short notice on a busy Sunday morning.

The turn around time from the phone call to Morriset to the tee off was 20 minutes, that explained why nobody can get on the green for the 176 m par 3 on their first shot of the day, BarnEsy claimed it as he was the only one to put the name down even he wasn’t on the green.

The course was a little surprise, exceeding most expectation and hold up reasonably well to the recent draught. I quite like the lay out of this course (perhaps too many trees for other liking)

It’s the first time we have a full 4 groups for a while (almost 5 groups if not for the late withdraws).

It shows, I guess, if we bring in new and interesting course, people will turn up (my theory anyway), so I would expect similar numbers will turn up to the next round in Port Kembla.

Magenta Shores and Long Reef are interesting courses with characters too.

Great to see the regular faces as well some ‘new’ faces that I never met before.

Golf was fun, it took several holes for everyone to settle in and some good shots were seen as well as some utterly awful ones.

Thanks to our playing group BarnEsy, big Wolf and Scooter for good laughs and catching up. The Wolf was surprise when he played to his handicap, well played, mate.

Congrats to Flogg for the win (busted wings my 4rse) :)

Thanks to BS for his attempt to organise the Newcastle leg.

Thanks to Snorkelguru for organising Morriset and providing the lift from Tronto to Morriset.

Thanks BarnEsy for the running the event.

See you all at the next one in Port!
