I'm going to spending more time staying near these three courses (well four courses since Moonah has two). Each club has a membership option and I may take one up. Interested to know from those who have played them all what your preferences are and why.

Brilliant design that on so many holes helps reward a good shot and on a few occasions, even a not so good shot.
Lots of bowls that feed the ball to your target.
It's as if Tom Doak thought the weather down there is tough enough, so it can be pretty forgiving unless you're way off target.
I love the joint.
Dunes is also a cracker, but as others will say, a few too many blind shots.
Local knowledge is a huge advantage there.
I've only played Moonah a couple of times.
Don't remember it well enough to comment.

St AB or The Dunes, Moonah Legends, all very good Golf courses. The Dunes is a more challenging lay out. Depends what you want from your golf.
If it is a continuous challenge, go The Dunes. A nice members course = Moonah.
St AB is in a league of it's own. I am unsure what sort of membership they offer.

I would like to play StAB again on a good day to make a genuine call on this...after last weekends brutal conditions I really didn't get to take much note of it. Therefore until that happens, my preferred course is The Dunes (out of those two).

Depends what handicap you're off:
High singles to mid teens I'd pick St Andrews Beach because even on the windiest days you won't walk off feeling like you've been reamed. In benign conditions it is a very wide and accommodating course with more forgiving green complexes.
If low singles then The Dunes because it is a fair bit more difficult all over and particularly in the wind.
If a complete chopper then it doesn't matter; either one will tear you a new one regularly
I'd pass on Moonah Links ...some like it I know but .......

The Dunes for me, eight days a week! Not sure I can articulate why that and not the others, but just love the joint, even though it has torn me a new one every time I've been there.
Have been beat up by both of the other two, and didn't really enjoy the experience. But I could keep going back to the Dunes, rain, hail, or shine.
Not saying it's a better course as such, but just really love playing there.
If you can read this you're too close!
