I know some soles are good for turf interaction and some arent, thats about it!

Yep that is what we are about.

Marginal playability is a sole that is perfectly flat on the ground line when the hosel is 90 degrees to the ground line. A sharp leading edge is a negative in this design.

Poor playability is a scoop sole which has the leading edge resting on the ground line and the flange in the air when the hosel is 90 degrees to the ground line.

Good playability has a few degrees of bounce on the flange, or a raised cambered sole with a rounded leading edge.

To see sole angle, hold the shaft loosely in the fingers with the back of the hosel at sight level (the toe is pointing away from you). Make sure your sight line across the sole is parallel with the leading edge of the face.
