Well done mate - how was the tee game?

One good drive, the rest mostly in play but woefully short, 180m-200m, all badly out of the heel. It's weird because I was striping them on the range.

I keep persevering but it's not real satisfying. Might have to consider a lesson.

Usually in a round there are at least 2 holes where a 180 straighty is all that is needed to avoid fwy bunkers or put ball in play. (your course 5th & 6th and 10th holes)

The understanding is knowing when to play such a shot, and more importantly how to just bunt a driver with control.

and also knowing when and how to hit a big drive when required.

And in any such situation where a 180m shot is required, 99% of A Grade golfers aren't hitting driver

5th bunker is 200 up a massive hill of the blues. Whites, just go over it.

6 just go over it. Whites its a hybrid over it, blues driver over it

10, whites go over it. Blues aim left and kill it or you will never get anywere near a score

If you are short of the bunker on 5, you will have a 3w to a green 190 away and 20 above you.

Super happy as I'm down to 3.3 after yesterday efforts which is my new lifetime pb😊

It also means I have met my goal for the season after 1 round so I better set something else slightly more challenging.

Playing no competition golf at the minute which has my handicap sitting stable on 12.4. Expect to cop a lot of abuse and jeering from mates when I start competition rounds in 2019 and come in with 75-79 off the stick scores. Will be well worth it though great prizes at the club and a handful of $20-$30 vouchers is a handy for dinners and the golf shop.
