I am on our Course Committee. Take the notes. Our Super is soooo good! He gets the job done well no fuss. He is an action person not good at reading emails etc. Our Committee gets on the course and mostly learn from the Super.Cheers Ben. Our fairway grass is definitely not a summer grass! It's all native and most of the fairways have zero green grass left. I've recently been put on a works committee and have to deal with the super so the more knowledge i gain the easier it will be to deal with him.You may see me on here a fair bit more!
We are following AGCSA recommendation and have a Committee chairman who is in for the long haul ensuring continuity. The others will stay as long as wanted. Just 4 of us and none currently on Board. Directors sometimes attend on the Course. The Board gets reports okayed by The Super and Chairman.
The Super likes the arrangement and I reckon he gets a charge from the Course Committee.
Ah Ben do you know about the AGCSA recommendation? Does your Club do something along these lines?

Is this the PDF available on the AGCSA website?? If so, I am aware of that publication. Our president is a strong figure head and makes sure people don't interfere in other portfolios. I have a good strong working relationship with my greens director, and this year, we have a few newbies on the greens committee and one of them, helped out at renovations last year. This experience opened his eyes and his head was spinning after our first meeting this month.
If your super and committee are on the same page all well and good. If not, good luck, IMHO. Too many committee people join committees to push their own agenda and this does nothing but promote I'll feeling between staff and boards.
Been at my course of two years languid, and it's the best time I've had as a super so far.

Main agenda is being involved and supporting really good Course Staff.
