Back nine (armed with coffee).  I'll try and be a little more succinct.

Tenth hole, 337m par 4, index 5, uphill, parallel to the first.

RJP had such a fade on his, it was almost a slice. A very rare event for him, a confirmed hooker.

My drive was good, approach was off line, on for three, one putt, par, +

Eleventh hole, 301m par 4, index 17, dead straight, gently down hill, much easier than the 6th (index 18).

Drive down the middle.  8i in, pin high but just left of green (scared of bunker on the right).

A chip and a putt, par, another +.

Twelfth hole, 453m par 5, index 15, gently uphill for 250m, ground slopes left unless you're on the very right hand side.  The more left, the more slope.

Duffed my tee shot left into the trees between the 12th and 13th. Decided to go up the 13th instead of back to the 12th.  Duffed second shot, didn't go far. Third shot up 13, failed to have the intended fade, across the fairway, slope took it left toward the 17th.

For my 4th, I needed a low punch of 140m, under a tree, past the cart of the group ahead who were, by now, teeing off on the 13th. All the hippity hop bounces took some speed off and it stopped under their cart.

Chipped on for 5.

RJP on for 3, 2 putts for a par and a half.

Thirteenth hole, 396m par 4, index 1.  The hole is level for 150m, then everything slopes down and to the right for the next 150m. If you get a long enough tee shot down the left side, you might just stay on the fairway.  Too far left and it stays in the trees.  anything else and you're in the trees on the right or out on the 17th fairway (a frequent occurrence).

I pulled my tee shot left, it hit a tree and went to the far side of the 12th fairway.

My next shot went over the group in the middle of the 12th (they were waiting on the group between us, now on the 12th green), slope took it down through the trees and toward the 13th fairway but it stopped in the rough.

I'm a PW out from the green, needing to just shave a pine tree in front.  I pulled it a little, hitting the guts of the pine tree, eventually on for 4 (or just off the back actually) and my putt missed.

In the meantime, RJP had a great drive to 'position A', on for two. Two putts for a par and a +.

Fourteenth hole, par 4, 338m, index 13.  Nothing special, except the fairway slopes to the right, getting steeper and among trees of the 15th green.  The 14th green is almost level but quite long, about 40m.

RJP had a touch of fade on his, the slope took it right to about 100m out but where he could thread his shot through the trees to the green. He actually hit it through the green, well off the back.

My drive was good, down the left side and rolled out to the middle, 135m to the pin.

My second shot was spot on.  Someone said it hit the flag, although I didn't see that. One foot from the hole.

One putt, birdie, another +.

Fifteenth hole, 161m par 3, index 11, slightly uphill, the ground slopes heavily right to left and the green follows suit.  Deep bunker to the left.

Too much insurance on my tee shot and it's in a shallow hollow above the green to the right.

RJP is on the right hand verge, pin high, but he doesn't get a shot here.

My chip didn't quite clear a bump which slowed the ball and it stopped on the verge. My tap on missed the hole but left it close.

RJP's tap on also missed. One putt for a half.

My one putt was also for a half so it didn't count.

Sixteenth hole, par 4 334m, index 7, hole has a slight curve to the left (more so near the green) and everything slopes left, bunkers to the left of the green.

My drive was good, second shot just off to the right - the slope brought it back toward the green.

RJP was on for two, two putts, par and a +.

I think that was another that I 1-putted, after the event.

Seventeenth hole, 341m par 4, index 3, uphill for 300m, everything slopes left, green is back right.

I had a great drive, right up the guts.

RJP laid into his and went up near the top of the hill, staying on the fairway (his best ever drive on that hole).

My second shot was great, curving ever so gently toward that right corner.

RJP put his second into a hollow at the left of the green (to catch any balls going wayward).

I find my ball on the green and an easy two putts for a plus.

RJP chipped his in for a birdie, another +.

Eighteenth hole, par 3, 194m, index 9, downhill, two fairly shallow bunkers on the left with a small gap between.

My drive was nudged by the wind (it was looking good most of the way) and slipped into the first bunker, rolled around the sloping periphery and hopped out directly opposite that gap between the bunkers.

RJP put his on the green but a long way from home.

I chipped mine to one foot (maybe less), then let him have a putt, which he left short.

I dropped mine for another par and another +.

Back nine: plus 7

Overall: plus 14.  One bogey (mine), three birdies (RJP's).

We won on countback.

A great day, perfect weather, RJP and I teamed well.

With nine holes each, we were both handicapped by the system.

RJP lost .3 with a 'handicap score' of 38.

I lost .7 with a 'handicap score' of 40.

We did a quick calc and worked out that RJP would have had a plus 5 if it was individual par and I would have had a plus 7.

I forgot (not my problem).  We got the plus, that's the main thing.

My thread had 5 pages in one day. Not started by me...and predominantly posts by others.

Maybe you need to rethink what you're doing in here.
