Not going to get the rain they were hoping for anytime soon.

Bloody hot today.
Evening news reported that it was still 43° in Melb @ 7:00 but it was only 32° where I live just an hour east. It only got to 38° here today, but my aircon kept me cool while the solar panels paid for the electricity.
I'm glad that I no longer live in a forested area.

Late arvo news just said the temp peaked at 27° in Melb today.
It was 40° just down the road here and is still 38.8°.
