If we had to assemble a set of the most poorly designed, gimmicky or unappealing clubs that found their way into our bags at some point, what would your inclusion be? and how long did it last in the bag?

My contribution would have to be this PGF chipping iron/putter

When I first started I was told a 'chipper' was the only way to go, but after about six months of not seeing anyone using a one I binned mine.

The OP? I just thought it would be interesting to see which gimmicks people fell for. Clubs they had to have but turned out to be unplayable.

I had a Greg Norman chipper in my first set which I loved but copped a lot if **** over. I ended up binning it because I realised that the 7 iron was basically the same club and got better results on bump and runs anyway.

A mate once put a bag of pork rib bones in my bag, probably preferable to a chipper

I'm prepared to cop some (a lot of) flack over this , but I've just bought one of these, it's proved to be bloody effective...so much so that others in my club are starting to use them.

Same loft as a 7 iron (as Lukos has said) but more like a putter. It has a wide base and sharp leading edge so perfect for a tight lie where you need a bit of elevation especially over a bunker. And perfect for a bump n run

Don't knock it until you've tried it
