How is the stopping power of these? looking to try a new soft ball that spins and stops on the green. Cheers.

It's a Tour-level ball so stopping power will be top notch, depending on how much spin you create yourself of course.

I'm loving the basic Hex Chrome, can't wait to try the Chrome Soft but I hardly play and am losing less balls nowadays, so I've still got some Chrome, then onto some Bridgestone B330-RXS to try, then I've got a sleeve of the SR2 from a promo, then I've got some Chrome+ which are spin machines (too much spin?) on full approach shots.....and then I've got some Hex Black as well.......okay, I have a problem, I admit it   :)  At the rate I play I'll try the Chrome Soft version 3 some time around 2018   :D

I like Callaway balls though, even the older Tour iS.

Interesting that Sam Saunders (that would be Arnie's grandson) and some other USPGA pros are reported to be using proto Chrome Softs - perhaps with a slightly higher compression.

Can't fault the distance with the irons but a bit like hitting a marshmallow with the driver.....which probably takes us back to some other previous Callaway ball???

How is the durability of the cover on these?

I played one for a few holes this morning till it took a swim at Eastwood.
Really impressed, just not sure on the cover.
I found the Chrome+ tore up very easily

They hold up pretty well. I bounced one off a heap of trees today and I will use it on Monday again. Today's ball took a fair bit of punishment and is still good.

I've been playing them for about a month.
I uses new ball every round but I don't notice any worse cover wear than my previous balls (TM Tour Preferred and Penta)

Thats cause you are playing better and having less hits.

also at this time of year softer fwys dont damage as much as in summer

under cb80's theory that because koiom is playing a lot better and having less hits

well I am one that will have a lot of hits between tee to green due to my skill level

this ball is highly durable and can easily last a couple of good rounds

if you took the sr2  and compared it to the  chrome soft

the sr2 cuts up pretty bad in 1 round compared to the chrome soft

How does a fairway damage a ball?

well in summer when the fairways are much firmer and with a low cut fairway the ball will skid in cuasing a scuff mark

where as in the cooler months the fairways will be much softer and the ball will not  skid  and will land softer

but  I could be wrong
