Can't recall how much it went for, but Cape Schanck recently sold down here. Also, the 290 odd acre site for the Duncan Andrews owned Cashmore designed project near San Remo is on the market, now that they have abandoned it (council wanted a lower percentage of residential).

Mark,

As long as the purposes are honorable I can provide you with most of the information you may be after. So what do you want to know for?

I want to buy one - gotta have a goal in life y'know :-)

Well not really, I am trying to encourage someone to tender for Horizons, so I have 2 honourable purposes;
1; to make a comparison
2; to see if there is any better propositions available.

Thanks

Is the 'Pokolbin CC' the old Porto Fino / Hunter Valley CC (next to the Cessnock/Hunter Valley airport?). That was a really good track, with possibly a few mickey mouse holes.

Any word on its redevelopment?

The riverside oaks purchase included significant surplus land for development of a second course and some residential. It is difficult to work out exactly what the existing course sold for out of the total price.

Miro,

You are obviously a man in the know. I heard that a chunk of Moonah Links is up for sale, have you heard anything?

JJ

MTB, here's one for you.

http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/06/...6749839193.html

This one deserved to fail, given the AGU, on behalf of the golfers of Australia, thought it smart to drive up green fees by charging roughly double what had been the going rate in the area. Hopefully any new owners will come in with the $40-$50 green fees which are more appropriate for the area. Might actually make some money as well. Negative is that the AGU will no doubt have there hands out for more money, probably through another levy. At which point member clubs should say no and have them wound up. People who paid big dollars for Medallion packages also probably stand to lose plenty. You're certainly not going to get a buyer now. Thus the actions of the AGU could also be responsible for sending a massive shudder through anyone holding an equity/transferable membership. Positive is the Australian Open may not be played there as often, if at all, and MTB can now buy a 36 hole complex.
