I had a lesson the week after Easter and the pro changed my swing quite a bit. I had been doing things to avoid a knee injury (like moving back) and then other things to compensate.

With pennants starting soon I have tried to get some extra games in to practice the new swing.

As usual sometimes you do everything he told you and hit a great shot and other times only some of them and hit it badly.

I had a few rounds where I mixed it up like that, eg over 90 with 3 birdies.

The Sat before last I had 2 birdies and an eagle and yesterday in the mid week comp, it all came together.  I went out in 33, 3 under with another eagle and a birdie for 25 pts. Back 9 was pretty good with 42 for 19 points. I've only had one round ever that was lower than that.

The pennant team had a group lesson today so got a few refinements from that.

My handicap had drifted out from 5 and with the change in the system I was playing off 11 at home, but back to 10 now.

I'm telling everyone the pro guarantees 2 eagles in the first month or your money back.

I've only ever had one eagle - at least it was on a par 3.

Pity I'd have to move to WA to take up his offer.

Keep up the good work, Grace.

I know this feeling well. I got myself to a point in my game where I felt I couldn't improve any more on my own, so got myself some lessons.

Now I strike the ball better than I ever have, yet somehow in the last 12 months I've ventured from 4 to 8. Yet despite that, I feel like I'm playing better golf.

Just makes no sense some times.

Hey Mick...you should go and check this pro out...might not help with the 16 wipes, but you'll get 2 eagles.

Nice going Grace...

We had  a group lesson for the pennant team on Thursday and that seem to completely stuff me up.

I followed that great round on Wed with a 7 down yesterday.

However, today I had 37 points and would you believe, another eagle, making 3 in 3 weeks since I had a lesson.

This was on the on the  par-5, 10th, which I hadn't eagled before. I did have a run of 4 birdies since the lesson, before a bogie and a par in the enxt 2 rounds. I had a fantastic 5 wood to hit the front of the green and dropped a 50ft plus putt to do this. With a birdie on the par-3 11th, I was 3 under after 2 holes on the back 9.

Pennants today - it was close all day with no more than 2 different at any time. After squaring up with 4 to play I pushed the next 2 tee shots right (weather was nasty and grips gloves and towels wer all wet) to be dormie 2 down.

Scrambled a win on the next with a blind shot through the trees that finished 10 ft from the hole and then hit the green on the par 3 to square up the match. Finally won on the 21st after she took 2 in the bunker. very close as she lipped oout a couple of times that would have given her the game.

The team won 7-0 so I would have been the bunny if I'd lost.

A rainy morning with wet gear on and off al day, clubs slipping etc.

Despite this I went out on 34 for 24 points (second sub par front 9 in 2 weeks) but could only manage 14 on the back.

It was still enough to win the comp and my playing handicap at home has again dropped again so will be off 9 tomorrow.

It was pleasing to convert birdie chances today, with 3 on the front and 1 on the back. However also 3 putted from 3 ft on one of my 2 wipes.

My putting was so awful a few weeks back I had a lesson just on that.

Last Sat I had no 3 putts at all.

Unfortunately I did have a 4 - putt . This was preceded by the comment - "damn, my first 3 putt for the day"

None today either - 30 putts in total.

Still, I stuffed up the first 9.

51 and 41 today in stroke.

Dropped 9 strokes in 3 holes

Yes it is a great feeling when it comes together after a lesson. I had a 15 minute lesson at The Open at Hoylake this year & one simple piece of instruction has helped me with the weakest part of my game & turning it in to a consistent part of my game. The pro had a ipad took a photo of what I was doing wrong then took a video of my swing & emailed it to me. The R&A put on the most job of not only The Open but all that is good about the game
