It was a pleasure and indeed an honour to play with an elite ball striker of your calibre. A true gentleman in every aspect, well apart from oneinstance but we won’t talk about that. Yes, your NTP did hold up and it was a very enjoyable red thank you.
Look forward to seeing you for 1& 1/2 days on the Bellarine next year.

I’m in for at least two days Commish.

I just posted in the “top 5 courses” thread and had to delete it when I realised it was talking about Melbourne courses. I’ll have to fix that next year as I’m not sure sunshine, Waverley and Yarra bend are going to impress too many.

I did update my signature profile “location” in my avatar though. Fun times.

Having recently become aware of the fact that a "top two" feeling about a course I have played is little more than an indication of favouritism, I have done significant navel gazing over the past 48 hours to truly segregate, delineate and compartmentalise the criteria applied to such a feeling.

In its entirety, my criteria came down to this. Is it my forever course? ie. If you had to play two courses forever, is this it?

Its an interesting debate once enough alcohol is involved for this reason, if a course is too hard (here's looking at you Hamilton Island) I couldn't enjoy it. If theres not enough variation in par 3 lengths, or rises and falls, its going to get mundane. If green size is basically the same or they are all impossibly large, whats the point? If the rough is harshly unfair or the clubhouse a stale vortex of emptiness (yes Capital, open your f**king doors), then I'm out.

So it seems i do have a criteria after all, for anyone who doubted me, thank you for the motivation to crystallise my thinking, I raise my glass.

For those who love and cherish me already, I'm pleased to have completely delivered again and again.

I've discovered on this site that you can "follow" a topic.

With that discovery came the disappointing realisation for me that I in fact had no followers.

To help me gain perspective, is it in the same category as having no friends on Facebook, no responses to Inmails on LinkedIn or no likes on Instagram?

And if you follow yourself, is there a conflict of interest that may arise where you do in fact come to the realisation you don't know where you are going?

While I am making every effort to embrace social media, it's these significant brick walls ahead of me that create the true confusion.

On the flip side, being a Carlton supporter it would not be outside my remit to ask if followship (surely its a word) can be bought. And to that end does a sleeve of golf balls donated to next years Nationals for every person who follows this topic by Christmas Eve set me up for success?

Also, out of interest, what is the most followed topic on iSeek and do I have a chance of beating that score?

I could be wrong and as usual, that is probably the case, but I think Boz holds that honour.

I don't know how to follow a thread.

Icon at top right corner Mick, it's identified by a little title.."Follow This Topic."  I guess yourself, like I and many others on this site don't bother with it on this particular thread because this thread is the most eagerly watched on the forum for any new postings.  I mean it is obviously the one that has the most incite into all things golf that really matter.

Although as stated above, it is not necessary, I will however follow this topic if for no other reason than I like to buck a trend every now and then.  Consider the thread officially followed Ben ;)  :D

Just wanted to also mention that so far only one person had followed this topic. I'm not cut up about it (well maybe a little) however the donation to the prize pool only grows with your click. Just saying......

I’ve accelerated to two followers, not quite in the league of Gary Vaynerchuk or Tony Robbins but on the right trajectory. That’s two sleeves of balls for the Nats so far. Keep ‘Em coming.
