Keysey's clubhouse is long in the tooth, but very comfortable.
Food is pretty good.
Not to many people used it when I was a member a couple of years ago.

But the course is fantastic

Comp fees should definitely be counted in any cost comparisons.

I'll throw another into the mix: Woodlands.

Top quality layout and according to their website annual fees of $1885 for a 29 year old. Joining fee might be an issue at $3675 but can be spread over a few years.

Of course.... any club that includes all Members comp fees has to be calculated. For example at Keysborough there are no 'out of pocket' expenses for club competitions with an option to enter the Pro Comp at a minimal cost. All said this is a massive saving over an average of say 50/75 rounds per year.

Comments are fair ! The club has plans for future development with the clubhouse but currently it is old world but very, very comfortable. The clubs policy has always been course #1 and this is evident in the magnificent course on show. On major comp days i.e. Friday, Sat & Wed the atmosphere is second to none imo .... great guys here to support a great club.

Vossie, I've got a game at Keysie on 10th Feb.    Have all the works been completed........the reason I ask is that over the last few years when I've played there, Keysie have been doing something to the course.

One example was the 16th hole........it was a forward tee and landfill down the right hand side.   A longish par 5 that was reduced to a very short par 5.

One thing that hasn't been taken into account is Rossdale has a running/walking track along the 5th and 6th  hole and you can't put a price on the eye candy.

Personally for mine if I was looking for a club to join I'd look for a club offering more than golf. Bowls, swimming pool, gym, tennis court.
