Is this the first new model to not come in the oil can finish?

Am interested to see how the raw black looks over time

I have a couple of old sets in carbon steel dating to 1910 -15 that are pure black (oxidised patina). Occasionally give them a rub over with an oily rag to keep their black pearl finish. If I didn't they would get a thin film of rust over the metal.

They look lovely...like most Vokeys:). I bought second hand SM4s a year ago, but these will be my next wedges next time I upgrade. For me, I prefer the Tour Satin (think that's what they call it)...don't really dig the shiny chrome finish. My 52* SM4 is Oil Can finish, but only cos that was the bargain I found. However, my 52* is one of my favourite clubs in my bag, along with my 913D2, RBZ Stage 2 Tour 3W and Scotty Cameron Newport Select 2.0:).

MP-64s 4-PW w/ S300
Vokey SM4s 52*, 56*, 60*
Scotty Cameron Select Newport 2.0 w/ SuperStroke 3.0

The gold nickel is taking over from oil can finish and looks very similar but just won't rust the black looks terrible but when it rusts it will look ok

Saw these on WRX and read the descriptions of the six grinds available. Still none the wiser from the descriptions.

I love my SM4 Vokeys, but to be fair all three I'm using now I picked up second hand for only around $80-$100 each. I'm sure I'll stay with Vokeys, but they sure are pricey, aren't they? For some reason it sounds so expensive spending that much on wedges....when in reality that's probably about what we'd pay per club for a new set of decent irons. The only other wedges that really tickle my fancy at the moment are the Cleveland 588 RTXs, and they're a bit cheaper... . I do love my Titleist gear though:).

Too many goddamn grinds. Will need to be professionally fitted to work out which ones to go with. Might not be a bad thing.
