On Thursday 23rd January, myself and 16 other crazy keen golfers will set out to play a minimum of 100 holes in a day at the magnificent 13th Beach Golf course.
The catch is - NO CARTS!
Why would you do such a crazy thing?
Karingal is a Geelong based community organisation who have recently established a specialist clubhouse facility for those with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI's) - For those who aren't aware, ABI's usually result from a single isolated incident, such as a blow to the head, or a stroke, however the effects last a lifetime. Myself and the other 16 hikers will be collecting donations and pledges that will go directly towards to improving the facilities and equipment available at the ABI clubhouse.
I would really like for the ISG community to get behind me and the other golfers taking part. You can pledge a donation as a flat amount, or nominate an amount per hole, as well as incentives for pars, birdies, eagles, holes in one etc.
You pledge via my page at http://www.hundredho...s/darren-knabel
Remember - it isn't about giving a lot, its about a lot of people giving something!
I am also still seeking 1 or 2 more caddies for the day to help with pushing the buggy around, this would be a great way for anyone interested to get involved, without having to walk the full 100 holes. (or 108 as I am aiming for)
We are also looking for support from the golfing world in regards to the supply of around 55-60 golf shirts which can be embroidered with the Hundred Hole Hike logo for the day, as well as showing off the brand/logo of the generous donor.
Attached is the official poster of the Hundred Hole Hike Down under. Please have a look and get behind this golf marathon for a very worthy cause.
Please give me a call on 0418998186 if you are interested, have any questions or would like to know how you can help. Spectators in support will be more than welcome through the day also.
