I paid my club subscription recently $647.00 full rights and can play 24/7/52 weeks a year.
Par 72, NZSCR 70.7 and slope of 118 off the white tees.
And some members still grizzle because subs went up again this year.
Only problem for you blokes is my home Course is the Marlborough Golf Club in the South Island.
I will never complain again about expensive subs after reading all your posts.

Pay $950 per year no joining fee`s.
Play two comps a week.
Hit the range at the course twice a week for a couple of hours (no ball cost included)
roughly 12 to 14 hours a week of entertainment works out quite cheap.

Do you share the course with the local livestock?

Lol! Nah, although we do have all sorts of bird life and the odd rabbit. While the Course is no Clearwater or Brookwater, it is an excellent 18 hole, well-tended golf course, with a very active junior programme. Had the South Island Amateurs here a few years ago. I cringed when a Christchurch mate said his subs were around $1000-00, and appreciate just how lucky we are. No joining fees at most NZ golf clubs either. Have to bear in mind though that the average wage in Marlborough is nowhere near the average wage in your larger cities, so while cost of living is probably a lot cheaper, incomes are not as high either

Is Pinehill reference to the suburb in Dunedin?
No, it is road surrounded by holes #1, 2, 3 & 4 of the Marlborough Golf Club at Fairhall, Blenheim.

Have played about 8 rounds at that course over 4 visits. Mother in law lives in Blenheim.
Prefer to go fishing in the Sounds and out in Cook straight pulling in massive groper and blue cod than golfing.
Also went on an overnight wild pig hunt with the outlaws which I will never do again.
