Bumped This

Is there any special membership deal in Southern this year ?

Check their website Elimb, the info was all there.

Would be a big step down from HGCC mate.

Played at LI.  Gosh, this is a pretty tough track !  The par 4s are all so loooonnnggg !

Have sand belt feel like Sandy.

3 x par 3 and 3 x par 5.  Can't they change a par 4 to a par 3 and another par 4 to an easy par 5 ?

What type of greens ? any members here ? Pretty difficult to read too !

Yeah I played there for the first time on Friday.

If i lived within 20-25 mins of the place I'd have signed up on the spot.

Thought thet have a really good group of Par 3's.

Back to back par 5's I thought was a bit rude though!

Only weak hole I thought was the the 8th, the dog leg left, wasn't a fan, just looking on their website and they claim that's their signature hole??

The 8th is a cracking hole. Risk/reward off the tee and a very tricky green.

How ?

The fairway is an up turned dish, with 90 % drives either going left or right !  Lost 2 balls on that hole.

I think I will use a 5 iron to tee off, the next time I play there.

So, what type of grass on the greens ?

Is Long Island country club sitting in the sand belt ?

Just wonder how does it play in winter, ie soggy or not ?

I've played it a few times in winter and they do rope off some low lying area's of fairways......1st and second holes I definitely recall last year.

Yeah, and the greens do get pretty soft, softer than you would think.

The amazing appointment of the "water man" from Cranbourne GC to Woodlands as their new Course Superintendent, returns Woodlands to it's past demons.  During the 60s, 70s and mid 80s the only difference between summer and winter golf at Woodlands was that you wore a jumper in winter.

Did anyone from Woodlands selection committee visit Cranbourne GC?
