The US funnily enough, land of the free and all that, is the place where the class system in golf is alive and well. Many clubs wouldn't let a labourer in other than by the back door to fix the taps. Sort of funny how that worked out

Will always exist so why worry. In golf however, at least in Australia it is now less of an issue. You don't need to be posh to join RM, but I suspect they would prefer you didn't carry on like a bogan.

Not sure RM is the best example but other courses that is now the case.
