Long Island renovating and coring greens Sep 19-21.
Massive issues with thatch levels apparently.
Going to close down 9 holes at a time.
From the Website
n addition to coring and sand topdressing, a process of injecting air into all of the greens will also be used to break up the compaction further beneath the surface. This will involve piercing the ground with three small spikes and then a machine will inject high pressure air which is designed to break up the sub soil at a depth of 20cm. Normal green renovation techniques only aerate to a depth of around 10cm.
