Its on an hour or so to Sorrento. Catch the Ferry to Queenscliff. Short drive to Barwon Heads.

How often does that solitary ferry go? Every two hours?
Probably quicker to drive around. Or at least it would be if we had a decent ring road.

Totally opposite side of Melbourne to the
Nats venues though, would be a good 2 hour drive.

Will probably do it on the way home when time is of no consequence.  Plus we may well be on that side of the Peninsula for the last couple of games anyway.

A round with me is worth it.

Perhaps not.

But let's go with it anyway.

So verrrry true.

Good for pinot. If you like a bit more flavour, stop in northern Vic for shiraz or cab-sav.

I don't mind a good Pinot but prefer the NZ models.  I'll get the Moulded ones view on whether there is anything worthwhile.  I do Rutherglen on the way down.

As Zoo will not be accompanying me next year the dear wife has volunteered to occupy the empty seat.  Soooo outside of the five days for the Nats which she is cool with, some things may have to be negotiated.  Hence why Yering will be the preferred option on the way home.  Hopefully there is something nearby that can keep her entertained.  A large shopping centre would be ideal... :(

Eastland (Ringwood) would be the nearest that might comply with "large".

He could jump the perimeter fence and be on the 13th green.

There was an airshow a couple of weeks ago...we were on the 13th, and it was bloody frightening.

They're usually just high enough to trip a plane up by the wheels so it nose dives.

Been a while...the new course tearing me a new one at times, and the handicap starting to blow out as a result.

That's ok...clearly I need the extra shots.

Played the Gentsomes at Yering last week...we all tee off, take the best tee shot like ambrose, but play out the hole with your own ball and take the 2 best stableford scores for the team score. We won with 103 points.

Played Heidelberg today...off 18, the highest I've been off there in my memory...and was just going for a while...most of the round really...had 14 on the front with a wipe (the 3rd), and had scored 4 points on the first 3 holes of the back 9.

Then a miracle occurred.

After not having a par to that point, put my tee shot on the par 3 13th to about 15 feet pin high, and dropped the putt for a 2/4.

Bogeyed the downhill par 5 14th after putting the second shot off the fairway right near the electricity towers and had to punch out with an 8 iron, PW to pin high, 2 putt bogey, 6/2.

Put the tee shot into the left edge of the treeline on the downhill 15th, punched a 6i low to the edge of the green, 2 putt par 4/3.

Left the tee shot on the par 4 16th a little short, played a curling drawing 3W up the hill and onto the green, 2 putt par, 4/3.

Par 3 17th, put a 5h to 4 feet, dropped the putt, birdie 2/4.

Dragged the tee shot into the treeline left on 18, punched out to around 60m, wedge to 4 feet, dropped the putt for par, 4/3.

18 points on the first 12 holes. 19 with 2 birdies and 3 pars on the last 6, 1 under par in that stretch.
