I know that The Aussie is $4.5 per year and Royal is about $4. Is Concord that high?

Great article in this month’s Golf Digest. Both Royal Melbourne and Kingston Heath have waiting lists under 2 years!!!

Provided of course you know enough members willing to nominate you.

I struggle to work out how the joining fee at The Lakes and The Aussie is more than double Royal Melb/Syd, Kingston Heath and NSW.

The Lakes and Aussie Committees must have “too tight a grip of themselves”...

Yes close to the figure you mentioned for RS. Golf entrance fees are based on supply and demand. Clubs can charge anything they want so long as people are paying it. The Oz entrance isn't has high as you think. NSWGC have in their constitution that the entrance fee can only be 4 x annual subs. NSWGC also has a genuine 12year wait list. I also wouldn't believe everything you read in magazines. Yes waiting lists are way down compared to years gone by but if you were a strong applicant, well known and connected, two years has always been the number......anywhere.
