It's a private club. Although don't be blown over with a feather if unaccompanied visitors end up being able to play. I honestly don't know, but I'll be prepared to guess that a similar or slightly cheaper green fee than The National would fit.

so how are we going to get a game at St Andrews Beach? How do they propsoe setting up memberships etc. now that the first prospectus has fallen over?

The original prospectus was actually recalled and deposits refunded. To commence construction back then, a minimum number of shares had to be sold (as stated in prospectus). Obviously, not enough potential shareholders would cough up without seeing or being able to visualize the end product.

Since that time, approval has been granted for the Eco Resort and Condo's. The new prospectus is out shortly.

In terms of playing, once the two courses are done, one will be exclusively members and one public, on a rotation basis.

Looks like Sorrento Downs.. sad.gif

Spooky, I used to play SD's almost daily as a kid cos the folks had a place near one of the fairways. I assume your comparison is based on the wide angle view of those wonderful rolling fairways. Those pics where taken on about day 5 of the first dig. I will post more recent ones soon and wait till u see what TDoak and his boys are perparing for us!!

so does that mean we need a prospectus to become a member? Any hints at how much they are looking at? Eg similar to the National? or Heritage?

True? One St Andrews Beach course open to the public each day?

If so, awesome!

If so, how much will these green fees be I wonder. Possibly quite high, although given it's really a private club, can't complain about that. Any access is good.

Will you Victorains please give the rest of Australia a go...

For the last 3 years I've spent a week on the sandbelt/mornington at the end of Feb.
Even with 36 holes on some days I can see this having to be extended to 12 days or more. Any clues on how to break this to the non-golfing wife?

Start with, "I love you, but I have to leave you."

"If you loved me you'd let me go and play golf" would be a good second line.

Take her out each night. More high end restaurants in Melbourne for $10 per dish less than the similarly rated Sydney ones.

All good advice, one small point, she stays in Sydney while I'm in Melbourne.

I still don't see an issue.

You might like to give her a weekend leave pass later in the year, so she can go interstate with her girlfriends, and, during which, you have the mother of all weekends, back in Sydney with your mates.

Remember, the glass is always half full marcel..
