To qualify, think a two pub maximum sized town, where you can cross main street on a Saturday morning without looking for signs of traffic. Also, an honesty box at the course would be another criteria, as would the local dogs outnumbering the town's population.

Harden, NSW. Used to host the "Australasian 2 man Ambrose Championship". Not sure if it still does. Great little country track.

Does Trentham count? It would only have a couple of pubs, not lights or roundabouts, and I''ve used the honesty box a couple of times.

Must agree Harden is an excellent country track . I have played in the Australian 2 person ambrose event there a couple of times . Were very enjoyable to play , i don,t think they still run now though.

the greatest game ever played

Nice one Waffle but there is a reason. I haven't used it everytime, occasionally someone has been there to collect the green fees.

Stawell in central vic is quiet good as well, has an honesty box but probably has more than two pubs. You could walk through the mall in on saturday mornings with out looking for cars

I would hope there are no cars in the mall mate... I reckon Stawell might be getting a bit big according to the intentions and criteria of the OP.

It's only got one pub. You don't have to look for cars, just hear them.
