Oldies' nine hole stab at Warra this morning, back nine, playing off 18.
In points, 4 threes and 2 ones for 20 points. So I'll be off 16 for next time.
Three 1-putts, no 3-putts.

I've been starting slowly lately with awful first nine scores then coming good on the run home. So it was good to be playing ok from the start.

Regular Tues comp tomorrow, off my real h'cap of 19.

I hit 85 OTS yesterday in a 4 BBB 2 man team event. This is an example of playing stress free golf. I wasn't worried about mucking up a hole because I had a steady partner backing me up. As a result I played better golf, even when I missed fairways.

Maybe I should say it is consequence free golf. I hooked my drive into the next fairway through some towering pines. No worries, I picked out a dip in the pines and whacked my 5 W back over the trees back onto the correct fairway, knocked a 6 i onto the green and two putted for par. Had I missed the shot, my partner was potentially in a position to cover my butt.

I can spell reasonably well, even if in American at times. I cannot type well , so please look for the key I intended to use within one key of the strange one I used.

Stroke yesterday at Southern.   Playing off 12 and the back plates...and counting putts.

Front 9 - 47 OTS

17 putts

Back 9 - 41 OTS

16 putts....with a 3 putt on the last

88 nett 76 was good enough for a BDL after "winning" the countback.   ;)

Flagged round and slight move to the handicap.

Stab at Warra today.
My theory about playing the first nine crap went out the window. With four 1-putts and no dramas, I had 19 points out.

Second nine, I had a few wayward drives, only two more 1-putts and one 3-putt wipe for 16 points.

I suppose 35 points is not so bad, but it should have been better.

No golf tomorrow, for a change.

Well done Mr X.

You could've journeyed to Warragul and lost to a journeyman from Riversdale who took our bickies with a 45.

Stab at Warra today.
Quite windy out there, causing chaos on the greens. Only three 1-putts, matched to three 3-putts.
Far too many 1-points and very few 3-points.

13 out, 14 back in, matching a 27-point which dropped off the bottom of my last 20.

Stab with the Vets at Trafalgar today.

The guy I beat in match play yesterday was there and, for some reason, was a bit grumpy, particularly when I told him that I had a crap score.

The rough swallowed my two balls, [correction: two of my golf balls], and was, well, a bit rough. But the fairways were mostly good and so were the greens.

I had a few flashes of brilliance but also some failures. On one hole (may have been the 4th, we started on 7), a longish par 4 with the green up a steep slope, I played a wedge in and thought I'd done well. When I drove up beside the green my ball was nowhere to be seen and profanities ensued. We looked over the back of the green and down the slope into the scrub but couldn't find the ball. Another in the group asked "Did you look in the hole?" and then extracted my ball therefrom. My second 4-point birdie for the day. But I had a number of wipes as well and only achieved 28 points.

Supposed to be playing at Warra tomorrow but it looks like heaps of rain is coming in, so I might have a rest day.
