Sadly no

You should actually be rejoicing in the fact you no longer get 2 points for that type of rubbish

As it had been 10 days since my last round, I thought I'd whip over to Warra for a practice round. But, alas, no carts allowed yet again !

So, a mate and I zipped over to Traf for their Friday comp. The place was crawling with Warra players, all looking for some practice before tomorrow's round. Hopefully, we'll be able to play Warra.

So, how'd I play? That is the question.

Stableford. No wipes, no 3-putts, six 1-putts and a chip-in. 17 points out, 23 back. My 40 points was leading when we left but there were still 20 odd yet to come in.

The course was in good condition with very few soft spots. Greens were soft and a bit slow but the holes had crisp edges, freshly cut for tomorrow's round.

My score will replace a 30 point flag which might cost me two shots off the 'cap.

Oldies' nine hole this morning.  1° when I arose, 3° start at the course.

Starting on the 10th, a 1-putt.  Nearly eagled 11 but then 2-putted for 2 points.  Things started to fall apart on 13 when I lost my tee shot, but found it later when playing the 17th, right where I was looking.  Must have been hiding under a leaf.  Chipped in on 17 for a par, but wiped other holes (13-lost ball, 14-tee shot left into a pine tree, 18-chip over bunker was a foot short) and had a grandiose score of 11 points for the 9 holes.

No, this is a seperate sub-group within the club. Been going around 20 years it seems. Bodgie unofficial handicapping.

The club does have a nine hole membership category but I don't know of any members, assume there are.

Par+ at Warra today. The "+" part is not relevant to me because of the rarity of which I would otherwise get a 4-pointer.

I didn't count my putts because I'd never get to a 3-putt, although I did manage a few good 1-putts.

-1 out, -1 back which aggregates to -2.

Handicap jumped out by 0.5

Yep...always enjoy YY.   Trouble was the wind and slope on the greens caused me to putt off the green on the 18th.....GIR but above the hole.....barely touched the ball for the birdie putt and it rolled off the front of the green about 5 mts....putt back on and then 2 putt for a 7.   Do you think I was happy about that?

We have a game at Huntingdale next Monday...with dinner after.   How were the greens???....as they have been pretty "patchy" there in previous visits.
