Definitely so. I had competitors rock up to the first tee saying they'd been playing crap recently. Defeated themselves.

Until they saw your zinger warm up swings.
That would have had them thinkn “I’m in with a chance here”

Not octopus falling from a tree level though!

Although come to think of it the octopus swing is only 2.5 shots behind you so maybe not that bad?

Only got out for 9 late yesterday.

Started great with a birdie, par, bogey, par first 4 holes.

Then caught up to a slow group in front who didnt offer to let me play through. Got angry and frustrated and finished shooting a 42 for the 9.

Maybe so, Kiwi. But they all still lost, except the last bloke and he didn't say anything about having a poor swing. Nor should he, it was pretty bloody good.

Played at Moe today with the Vets. Slope 126 which just got me to a playing 'cap of 19.

Shotgun start on 8, a par 3. Duffed the drive but recovered with a 2-point. Followed up with lots of good shots.
No wipes, two 1-point, five 3-point and a 4-point on the index-1 hole where I got 2 strokes.
Three 3-putts (2 were just plain careless) and ten 1-putts.

41 point total & I won the day.

Where are you playing now, Kev?

Playing at Settlers Run Francie. Bought a house in the estate a little over 2 years ago. Not playing as much as I originally planned. Moved into the estate. Got married a few months later, a month later found out wifey was pregnant. Son born and hes now 15 months old so really havent had as much time to play as I want. Golf turned to **** during winter as on the weekends it was fine enough to play we always had something on, during the week no practice as I just wanted to get home to the young fella.

Got to warmer weather and my swing was shot. Could not hit a drive to save myself, to the point where I stopped using it. One day at the range I thought to myself I need to figure this out. Assessed the misses and thought ok I think I know whats happening. Changed my grip slightly (went to a stronger position with the left) and boom 4 striped down the guts, then one hook. But 4 in a row made me feel like I had it. The confidence started coming back and flowed into the other clubs.

Want to get out more on course but I swear life is taking over too much

Stab at Warra today.

Started ok but things went wobbly in mid first nine, wiping 5 & 6.  16 points out.

Back nine was more stable with lots of 2-point holes and a couple of 3-points bringing up a 20 point total.

Overall 36 points (might get a ball DTL), four 1-putts and a chip-in, no 3-putts or worse.

Played Hills International with Bubs dad
Had 45 and 40 for 13 over
1 worse than my cap
Tried to drive the green on 4 - tee was over the gully - slight push and lost it so triple on that one
Otherwise not too bad - left putts short as greens were a little slow
Overall reasonably happy

Another day at The Flats yesterday and my driving continues to improve. Managed six good ones out of thirteen attempts and three of the others weren't too bad either. Pretty good overall considering the 30+knot winds.

My 37 points could have been a whole lot better too, except for an insipid finish over the last three holes. A three putt bogey, wipe, three putt bogey.

Still, gotta be happy with the return of the big stick. :)

Played 2 man Ambrose with GCG at Brookwater today- finished 1 over the card and combined handicap was 5.75 so net 4.75

Was way behind the net 56 that one - 16 under for a 2 man Ambrose!

Good fun though. I drove it well and GCG hit his approaches well but we had a few too many mistakes and didn't drop very many of the mid length putts you need.
