Agree with Weetbix. Who needs full sun and over 26 degree heat at 5am. Even tradies don’t start work til 7. Much better to have a bit of evening light.

Better sleep environment an hour later is a big benefit for mine - bright sun and the heat rising from 4.30am is great for the surfers I'm sure but sucks for trying to sleep well

England is considering having DST all year long
Should do it in QLD too
Go DST then keep that for winter and add DST on to that for summer.
It’s pretty much midwinter here. Still sun up at 6am.
FFS.
Winter time sunrise 7am is fine. Summertime would be 6am.
Let’s get some evening in!
If you want to surf early no ones stopping you.

Having lived in Brisbane for 2 years I observed that Queenslanders get up crazy early and do lots of stuff before work. Which is all well and good if you're a morning person I guess. For me there's no doubt more benefit in having extra daylight in the evenings. Also being used to Swedish summers where you could tee off at 6 pm and comfortably get 18 holes in before dark has spoiled me a bit I guess since I miss being able to play a round after work.

The best thing would be to have permanent DST in NSW and make it two hours instead of one!  :D

English people need as much sunlight as they can get to better their tans!

Early mornings are for sex. Late afternoon / early evening for golf. Everyone is a winner.

Far too many celibate old farts in Queensland who are too tight fisted. ScoMo has to subsidised viagra in Queensland then they would adopt DS.

Additionally, think of the boost to the economy DS would bring. Currently, the old farts like Hack are in bed by 8:30pm. With DS they’d be still having a few drinks, restaurants would still be open employing people etc etc. not many people are employed at 5am.

In reality the less twilight the more compelling DS is. A permanent hour going to 2 hours from Oct to Apr would be perfect for Queensland. Tassie should forget DS.
