Well here goes nothing haven't played for 4 weeks while my side healed and I wasn't game enough to go out and push it until it was better.Doctor said if it tore again in the same spot it could take months to heal,so the pain is very slight can even swing properly now so i'll give it a go
How did you all play this weekend?

Interesting that you say playing with a young gun today that it may sharpen your game up. Do you think it helps playing with someone of your own ability or just a little better
I think it helps once in a while to play with good players (the
kid is only 15 and off a 17 hcp, good swing and ball striking
ability, crappy short game at the moment)...
regardless of who u play with, I believe there is always something to learn from what other ppl do...
could be tempo, or swing technique, or chipping...everyone has their good (and bad) points...

i had 24 points, hit the ball OK but must have had 40 odd putts!
wasnt the only one to struggle, heaps of 25's to 28's and
a 17 point effort as well!
41 won the medal by a 4 marker and CCR was 74 so it was a tough day!

Young Mitchell played in his first ever comp today and shot a respectable
76-23-53 Pitch and putt par 54

Pretty ordinary. Stroke round. Drove well. Short game was disastrous. 3 really bad holes.

Was very happy to play to handicap after a few weeks on the sidelines with a back injury. I had a 83 -11 = 72 nett. That included a triple bogey (OOB) and 2 doubles. I was pretty happy with my putting too (25 putts) after having no touch on the practisce green.

Saturday: 81(72), 45(41)
Sunday: 79(70) - played the last three holes (shotgun start) +1, +2, +3...oh well...
I should stop playing nine holes...it just gets me down at how shitty I play...

I think I had my best round ever - tied for first in the 2nd division for the Ladies medal! I had 125-45-80 ( I think that's how I'm supposed to write it - in any case, 125 scratch, 45 hcp and 80 net).
That was such a huge improvement on my last medal day where I had 159 scratch!
Mind you, the greens had been cored on Monday and I just couldn't pick the speed -43 putts - ugh! I figure if I can get the chipping/putting thing down I'll be in there with a chance to finally get off 45

wont be long before 45 is a distant memory! It's ahrd for begginners to cut strokes of handicap when playing stroke as your bad holes are magnifyed. Play a fre Par and Stableford rounds and just try to play to you handicap on each hole. If you get 3 shots on a par 4, try to make 7 with 2 putts, won't be long before you will be off a low 30's mark!

Played The Vintage on Saturday.
Was +4 after 5, then -2 for the next 9 holes.

I had 43 putts on the day - disastrous - I 3 putted at least 4 times - so if I can rule that out, 30s here I come!
I am so glad that next Sunday is stableford - at least picking up the ball gives you some time to re-group.
