Stableford yesterday at Yarra Yarra.    Some works still going on and temp green on the 8th and 12th.   Temp hole on the 9th and temp tee on the 9th into the normal green (playing as the 10th)  The 10th hole was out of play

A little confusing but the changes will make it a different course in time to come.   Started on the 17th...Playing off 10 for the day

Front 9 - 15

Back 9 - 13

28 with 2 wipes on 16 & 17.

Opening hole and closing hole.

Annoying.

Yep...from nowhere...3 putts on both without a shot will do that.

Xmas ambrose at Warra today. Otherwise known as muckup day, greenkeeper's revenge, etc.

Various obstructions, such as a table and chairs positioned over the 1st hole, a barricade right across the 2nd fairway but out of sight from the tee, a fat hose snaked across the 4th. Greens had collections of things all over them: tee markers (plastic domes), hole liners, small signs, rakes, planks, etc. The 18th had a few hundred range balls in a circle about 2m wide around the hole.

We had a gross 74 and a handicap of 7.75, but there are nett scores in the 50s.

No handicapping today due to the storms making the bunkers unplayable (apparently). I only saw one waterlogged bunker, the same one that always has water in it after rain because it has no drainage. There was a time when the greens staff would have been there at first light and rectified the problems, but I guess that no longer happens for whatever reasons.

Anyway, 32 points with 5 one-pointers and 2 wipes - so not too bad. Tragically lost the bet after being dormie with two to play. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.....

36 points at Meadowbrook off 11 would probably be the same played to as 32 points at The Flats!

4 person stab waltz today. (best score on hole 1, best 2 on hole 2, best 3 scores on hole 3, then repeat 1,2,3 on next 3 holes, etc).

Our team scored 86 which was 'well up there', but not good enough for balls DTL.

I scored 36 with a wipe on my 'not shot' hole (played off 17) and pleased to get a par on the index-1 hole. Five 1-putts, lots of close shaves.

37 points with 2 wipes and a one-pointer. 31 putts was the difference as the driver was again not behaving.

So spent all that money on redevelopment and didn’t drain a bunker.....

The bunker in question is set below the water table and so with the slightest downpour becomes unplayable. The real issue is, thanks to the genius of Clayton, we have bunkers which wash out whenever we have a storm, a regular occurrence in summertime in Qld. So, the sand and soil from the face of the bunkers washes down, and the fines then clog the drainage system, resulting in a huge amount of constant maintenance to restore the bunkers, only for them to wash out with the next storm. And so the cycle continues, instead of fessing up that the bunker designs are flawed, and actually fixing the problem. Instead, a series of committees have their collective heads up their arses and continue to worship at the Clayton altar, and we continue to have some of the most inconsistent and poorly maintained bunkers of a self-indulgent 'premier club in Qld'. Seeing you asked. .

36 points with 4 one-pointers and 35 putts. Didn't putt poorly, just never really made many. Managed a couple of half decent drives and hit my iron approaches pretty well. Some encouraging signs and might decide to actually put some work on my game into action in the new year, and then again, I may not. The handicap looks after most things.
