The weather forecast for today was rain. I was booked in for 11:22 The radar showed a little rain approaching but a clear run behind it and missing our neck of the woods.
The 'four' was already down to a three last night and the tee block after us was empty.
Got to the course, yes there were high clouds but didn't look too bad. The other two in my group had cancelled and the next group going out was 11:38 so I was slotted into there. I might add that it was the monthly medal, postponed from two weeks ago which was rained out.
So, we hit the course a little early, around 11:30. Fine weather but a stiff, gusty breeze. All looked fine but few others out playing.
A little rain blew through while playing the third hole, but soon gone. On the fifth hole it came down a bit heavier. By the time we were playing the 6th, it was bucketing down with the wind blowing rain into everything. By the time we got to the green, the other three blokes had all decided to call it quits and that was enough for me. So that's a NSNA and all my flags move down a notch.
Leaving the clubhouse around 1:30, the clouds overhead were clearing and clear blue skies just ahead. Sunny afternoon.
We got smashed and I mean smashed on our 11th hole, cowering down behind our umbrellas bags blowing over, hail, rain, thunder!! basically Armageddon then 5min later blue sky go figure
