Beaufort Annual Tournament on the Weekend. Back where my golfing journey started.
Friday 4BBB S'ford
Partner was my Brother in law (same as last 10 years)
- Started slowly 18 points on first nine
- Came home like a wrecking ball with 25 points on back nine for 43 total
- NTP on 18th
Well short of the winners with 49 points but played some good golf on the second nine.
Saturday 36 Holes Stroke
Had an absolute Barry Crocker in the morning. I reckon I missed 18 putts under 4 feet to have 93-13-80. My first par was on the 17th hole we played.
Well out of contention for the 36 hole event. Couple beers and beautiful roast lunch then out again.
Started on 10th hole with birdie lipping out and played much better. Ended with 43 on the first nine after complete stuff up triple on the 18th then like Friday came home on fire with 37 on the last nine. Ended up with 80-13-67 and got beaten on a countback for the B grade afternoon h'cap.
Sunday 4 person Ambrose
- Agreed to join up with some of the local guys - was the low marker for the group by some distance. Really struggled - 4 rounds in 3 days is probably a bit much given how much I play at the moment. Think we shot 73 for a 63 nett well off the 56 nett that was needed to take a trophy.
Another great weekend and a permanent fixture on mine and many others calendar. Only the NTP to show for three days of golf and probably a couple of kilos heavier due to the incredible country hospitality (see attached picture).
Another tournament down and dusted. Usually after the tournament the clubs go away again for a while but will be back out for Royal Melbourne next Monday with the brother in law.
