Holy crap! 9!

What happened?

What didn't......

Missed 3-footer on the first hole (10th) set the tone for the day - 1 point.

Shanked 8 iron on 11 into unplayable lie - wipe.

Bladed LW on 12 into back bunker. No sand in what are the worst maintained bunkers you will find anywhere, little less at the self-proclaimed premier Club in Qld. Bounce bladed shot back through the green and three putts later - wipe.

Good drive on 13 and an approach that landed on the green but trickled off the right side. Chip too strong and over the other side into the swale. 3 putts later - wipe.

Bad drive on 14 went 80m but followed by a good 3 wood to 70m. Approach short then a yipped chip into back bunker - wipe.

Birdied 15 - 4 points.

Missed 3-footer again on 16 after a good drive and approach hot - 2 points.

Half-shanked tee shot on 17. Good bunker shot hit the flag but missed the 4-footer - 1 point.

Good drive and approach on 18 and nearly holed the birdie putt - 3 points.

Poor drive on 1 left 223m into a slight breeze to the raised green. Knocked it on and 2 putts later - 3 points.

Pulled drive on 2 went into pond short of the green and a couple of chops later - wipe.

Good up and in for par on 3 - 3 points.

Pulled tee shot on 4 onto a bare lie and chunked pitch into bunker. Good bunker shot but missed 5-footer - wipe.

Bad drive on 5 into trees right, left a 3 iron to green. Missed right into thick rough, pitch came out hot and rolled across green into bunker. No sand, two attempts, pick up - wipe.

Blocked 3 wood tee shot unplayable at base of tree. Chip out, wedge approach hit green but bounced left into the one of the worst of the bunkers. No sand but got it on to 10 feet and missed - wipe.

Blocked drive on 7 into thigh rough and over ambitious 3 wood from said lie cold-topped 40m. Good 3 wood just short of green and a chip to 2 feet - 3 points.

Good 6 iron on 8 and two putts - 3 points.

Good drive up 9 followed by another good 3 wood left a kick on pitch shot which I natuarrly bladed through the green leaving no shot over a bunker to a runaway green. So I promptly dumped in the bunker and then nearly holed the bunker shot, and of course, missed the 3-footer - wipe.

Thank you for letting me relive that nightmare - let's hope it is therapeutic. :)

I won BF today with 38 off 13 - 18 and 20 points, 43 and 40 shots

Think I won by 3 points so the only person to break handicap out of 31

1 wipe after starting with 3 pars

Couldn't drop a birdie putt

2 3 putts on some very tough pin positions today

Course is in great condition but many of the white tees were way back

Plain vanilla stab at Warra today.

I started with a 3-point on the 1st, an ominous sign.
Four 1-putts on the first five holes then the wheels fell off with 3-putt wipes on both 6 & 7. 15 points out with those two wipes, but the back was worse with just 12 points.

The now almost expected crap start after hitting it well on the range. Result 11 points the first nine.

And then, as per usual, I found a little something on the second nine. And even though I only managed 15 points, there were real signs by virtue of some strong drives and iron shots - of maybe a return to form

Not sure I should be satisfied with 26 points, and actually I am not, but I did hit a lot of good drives and quality shots to give me some real encouragement.

Looking forward to tomorrow, but as golfers, don't we all! :)
