Weekend away in Torquay.
Played 13th beach beach on Saturday and scraped it round for 26 points, had 42 putts which was interesting.
Course is really struggling to be in a good shape for the vic open, lots of work to be done.
Played par at Racv Torquay today and started the same way, was -3 on the front 9.
Fired up a bit on the back 9 with 3 birds. Left a 4 footer for eagle short on 11.
Wiped 18 which is a damn easy par 5, provisional had 130 in 😢
All square for the day with 4 birds

4bbb handicap pennant on a composite course of captains front and presidents back and we got a flogging from a 8 handicap and a 21 handicap ( to our 9 and 13 handicap)6/5. They played better and had luck on their side but that’s golf sometimes.

Traralgon Plate today.
Team of 4, best 3 stab scores for the team.
I had a lovely chip-in birdie on one hole, eight 1-putts, no 3-putts, but little else to write about. 17 points on the front nine, but only 10 on the back.

The greens were excellent, fairways mostly quite good (what I saw of them), but the rough was mostly just bare dirt and I saw a lot of that.

A young buck in the group (from Sale), playing off 1, frequently hit fantastic shots and came in square, 37 points with his one handicap shot. With a strong easterly wind behind him, he nearly drove a 430m par5.

One of these days I am going to put 18 holes together. Stableford at YVCC on Saturday (Wife and kids at the in laws).

As I bladed my wedge into the first 40 yards through the back and walked off with double I thought - long day today. Realed off 7 pars in a row before bogeying easy par 5 9th to walk off with 21 points on the front.

Then the rot set in  4 putts on the 10th, out of bounds on the 15th and just general crap on the back nine for 16 points.

37 points and another round in the what could have been pile.
