This is the new Sumo Square with 5900 MOI. 9.5 degree, VS Proto Stiff. This is a huge improvement over the original Sumo Square in terms of sound and distance. Forgiveness is about the same.

This driver has hit about 30 balls (1 range session and 1 round old). It’s in mint condition.

It is in excellent condition with only two range sessions and 1 round under its belt. 9 degree, T spec (ie. neutral, not draw biased) with stock stiff shaft (not the V2).

Thanks for organising the day, Mike. And thanks to my playing partners, Jim, Matt and Daniel. It was great fun.

Congrats Steve on winning the day and also getting the hole in one. My GPS told me that the 16th played 148.12 meters ... into a club and a half wind. Well done.

It was fun discussing everything golf (equipment, technique, courses, etc) after the game with guys that are as keen as I am (and some probably keener) about the game. It was almost 7:30pm when we left ...

Let's do this again soon ...

I suggest you take the exit towards the airport (domestic terminal) and then get onto Botany Rd heading up north towards the city. When you hit Gardeners Rd, turn right. After about a kilometer or two, the golf course is on your right. (Cnr of Gardeners Rd and Isaac Smith St)

I go to Gary for all clubmaking needs. (He's the only one with enough patience to put up with me. ) He used to work for Paul at Advantage Clubmakers until he set up his own shop. His phone number is 9949 8899.

As few people have already suggested, I found Paul's work very good but expensive. Gary's prices are much more reasonable, IMO. Paul has Shaft Lab set up in his shop which I would like to try out some time. I think he charges around $30 for a session.

Thanks everyone for driving all the way to my home club. The word is that a few of you were speeding down Mona Vale Road ...

I tell ya, this organising thing is hard! I was just relieved that the rain stayed away. It sounds like everyone had a good time. I think Andrew got a bit ill with the heat so had to leave early ... I hope you are feeling OK, mate.

Thanks for the write-up, Jim. Just a quick correction. Fishman was 2 up and Speirsy was 1 up in the par event. However, the competition amongst ourselves was in the stableford format ... Fishy ended up with 37 and Speirsy with 39 (with couple of 4 pointers that just counted as "+" in the par event). I don't think I made that clear before we teed off, so Fishman may have a legit case if he wants to launch an appeal ...

Thanks again guys, and let's do it again soon. I hear Vintage is on the cards for the next get together ...
