Topic: Golf Talk / Rumford chips in for European Masters win Tai – can you please post more pics of your avatar, preferably somewhere you don’t have to scale it down? Oh yeah, good win for Rumford too… he was struggling to hold onto his Euro Tour card. |

Topic: Sports Talk / Australia at the Asian cup You didn’t watch the game, did you. Schwarzer has no confidence. The closest they came to scoring was off a corner, if Emerton wasn’t at the near post it would have curled in from the kick-in. He also juggled several, and ricochet’s were very lucky not to have gone straight to the feet of the Thai kiddies. We only out-played them in the final 10 minutes, they slumped when they went down 2-0. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Why are so many Aussie players blowing third round leads recently If the US dollar keeps going the way it is, all the Aussies will be heading back to Europe. There’ll be more money. Not too sure about that, the premier tour is still the US PGA, and that’s where the more prestigious majors are played. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Is Brett Ogle The Worst TV Commentator? I didn’t think his commentry was too bad at The Players, but having said that it was only because he cut through the crap the US commentators were piling on. Look – he’s cheesy, and sponsors like that crap. |

He had 3 bogeys in a round that should have seen him cruise to victory. Not a choke of Appleby’s magnitude, but he should have been in the running down the stretch. Is it better to lose when a bloke shoots a 66 to finish over the top of you? I’d say not. |

I’m not making fun of his name. Is his caddy Jemima Puddle-Duck? |

Don’t know if you can call it a choke, but he should be propping up the bar with a belly full of piss as I type. Not good enough when it mattered unfortunately. What’s worse is another god-botherer finished over the top of him. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Sledging would make golf a lot more interesting. Mickelson is probably a bad example. No matter how many Majors he wins, he’s still fair game on a wide variety of topics. |

If nothing else, we’ll have decent commentry, and no wankers in the crowd screaming “IN THE HOLE” when a player tees off on a 520m+ par 5. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Most durable premium balls?
You’d be kidding yourself if anyone here thought otherwise. This is an age-old ISG argument that no one wants to go back to. Catweazle – I find you get 2-3 full rounds out of one before you start to take too much skin off (trees and cart paths aside). The only problem I have with Titleists is that they go off-white fairly quickly. Having said that, they Titleist NXT Tour ball is a great value ball without the expense of the Pro V’s. I don’t use Callaway’s much, but I bought some Warbirds a few years ago. I still have all of them – they are like hitting a lump of concrete! I find that the Srixon’s hold together well and retain their whiteness better than other balls. Each to their own, but that’s my advice. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Longest hitter you have played with?
We met Mark Bylsma one day at Fox Hills. He was lurking around the Pro Shop, but the bloke we played with that day was a sponsor of his and was paying his way to the US that year to compete in the ReMax long drive. I think that was around 2004. Big lad, but hitter. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Most durable premium balls? Definately the Pro V1 as the most durable premium ball, but you can buy cheaper, good balls for hackers at 2 or 3 for the price of 1 Titleist. You’ll probably find the Bridgestone’s chop up pretty easily, but as far as bang for buck goes, the Srixon’s are the best. The premiums don’t cost as much, and the middle of the range balls will suffice for most of us choppers. |

Topic: Sports Talk / Australia at the Asian cup
They do it more often and far less believeable, and if you watched the game last night you would have seen some great refereeing – a yellow card was shown for a feigned injury. The question came up during the telecast – how can they police it? Trial by video. After the game, review these incidents and dish out suspensions, but FIFA are much too gutless. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Sending Drivers If one post office knocks it back, take it to another. I found that major PO’s accept them more often, or distribution centres. For instance, I’ve sent 2 through the Parramatta PO – first time no questions asked, 2nd time they said they couldn’t do it so I told them I had done it before no problems. The lady went out the back to ask the guys and she accepted it. I had a previous experience to fall back on, but a little white lie might get you over the line too ;) |
