Steady is better than fast, most of the initial weight loss is from fluid. Losing weight too fast causes a greater loss of muscle volume. |

Topic: 2013 Weight Loss Losing weight is a simple formula, Energy in V Energy out. All you need is a balanced diet tailored to your specific energy requirements, minus 10-15% for the weight loss component. The more difficult and complicated you make it the greater the chance of failure. |

Topic: 2013 Weight Loss More decision makers lay gold than stay on the p&*ss until 3am I figure, it’s the influencers you have to worry about though meant to say “play golf” not lay gold!! |

Topic: 2013 Weight Loss Yep, sure could, have to try and make up for what you miss on those 3am nights out when a strange bonds occurs. hence the golf strategy… More decision makers lay gold than stay on the p&*ss until 3am I figure, it’s the influencers you have to worry about though |

Topic: 2013 Weight Loss MaxxOn thanks: wilsonsisland “at” gmail “dot com” Those things sound nice, and some I could manage easily, nut some I couldn’t as its got to be doable, otherwise with FT work, two young kids, etc etc I will just slip away to normal… “Just because you entertain clients doesn’t mean you should feel the need to drink alcohol. I tell people I don’t drink and they look at me stupid. We have a sick obsession with booze in this country.” Hmmmm yes that sounds good in theory, but the game I am is very blocky in a corporate environment and it doesn’t fly, wish it did though. I have no choice so I have to make it work, see how I go I guess My aim is to take clients (decision makers etc) out for golf rather than on the p**%ss all night. Better quality time and good for both groups so hopefully that works well… |

Topic: 2013 Weight Loss Put weight on steadily last year and was finding it difficult to walk the course, so , on Jan2 this year I started a strict calorie controlled diet, weighed everything and used a good calorie ap on my IPad. Lost weight steadily and last week reached my goal weight. Finding walking the course no problem and am now in the normal BMI range. The main problem I found was the snacking as I always grab things as I pass, once I had this under control there were no problems. We have always cooked fresh and all we did was to make sure the counting was accurate. We wrote everything in a book and kept a daily diary of every morsal we ate or drank. I have now increased my intake to a maintenance amount but still record everything as it is too easy to backslide. Both of us weigh once a week and then alter our diet and food consumption to keep it even. It seems a lot of work but it soon became second nature and made it easy to monitor our results. |

Topic: 2013 Weight Loss Hey SirTopallot, Just some basic tips on nutrition I have found over the years that work. Remember no diet can replace eating healthy over a lifetime. Meals – 6 Rules 2. Each meal must contain lean protein (meat, seafood, eggs, dairy, vegetarian options etc.). 3. Low in sugar and processed carbs. 4. Prioritize healthy fats (good oils, raw nuts, avocados, fish oil). 5. Fresh natural additive free ingredients. Fresh ingredients better for you. 6. Include carbs if they have been earned. Meal Timing Super Shakes Use normal milk if you prefer, or any fruit or spinach instead of greens powder. You have to enjoy the taste. Supplements (Get diet right first more important then supplements) Cheat meal strategies Portion size Protein – Palm size Sleep – Minimum 8 hours |

Topic: 2013 Weight Loss Danz, well done by the way, that’s impressive what you’ve done. My 11kg’s weight loss basically happened in around 16 weeks and I hit a weight loss wall after that… Danz – Any key meal examples you found that worked well and were quick and healthy? What I’ve planned (ish) Quinoa and brown rice which I like (microwave cups are easy and healthy), lots of tuna, corn kernels and 3 bean mixes Porridge in the morning to lower cholesterol No alcohol during the week – weekends only unless for work (I work in a role which necessitates entertaining clients Lots of fish (even canned tuna and salmon when i’m time poor) Try and cut down red meat to 3 days a week if i can Try and reduce carbs at night but lunch ok and maybe breakfast The Low GI diet is suggested for people with high cholesterol and gestational diabetes, and this worked well personally in the past (when my wife was pregnant I did it with her) Thought about doing the luver detox to kick things off, but might do the diet and riding for a few weeks first, so it’s not a shock to the system I already drink tonnes of water and anyone struggling to cut out softdrink should drink Coles 79c mineral water at night, it’s surprisingly good stuff Green tea actually tastes ok for during the day, but I’m not giving up coffee and tea Sugar I’ll substitute with Equal and salt i’ll cut out or replace with something else |

Topic: 2013 Weight Loss Cycling to work works well if yuo can do it, I’m starting my diet today and will get back on the road bike tomorrow, 30km a day. It’s good because it seems more like commuting after a while when you get some fitness, rather than doing exercise I dropped 11kg’s last year doing this (96kg to 85kg) and it’s faster than driving to be honest, with traffic |
