Topic: The Lounge / Why America is scary When someone goes outside the house to kill (even if there are robbers etc out there) it IS murder. This guy should get the book thrown at him. When you give the common folk the ability to dish out justice willy nilly with a gun you have yourself a society of vigilantes. What if these guys were kids playing a prank on a friend and just got the address wrong? Or a drunk going home and went to the wrong house? Obviously this wasn’t the case but it could have been…And when does stealing someone’s valuables become a capitol offence that requires summary execution? One would think the officer on the phone gave this guy a lawful order not to go outside and at the very least this should be taken into account against him. |

Topic: The Lounge / Why America is scary I guess this is a time where the saying ‘its a free world’ applies. I can’t change your mind and v’versa. I just hope that you don’t get lazy one day and forget to clear the weapong before handling it. For me, I hope a gang of sex crazed phsyco’s don’t want their wicked ways with me. lol! |

Topic: The Lounge / Why America is scary
Sorry racinfarmer I have to dissagree. I have 6 years as a professional soldier in the Australian army and I have seen enough unintentional discharges to keep guns away from my family for good. Here are some facts (on military rifles at least):
The irony is while people worry and fret about home invasions etc and wield there weapons saying “it’s my right to bare arms and defend my home” the world will never be safe. By the way, the world is full of old laws which were created for the times. For example, the USA have the right to bare arms. This law was introduced during the civil war as a way to protect themselves from an invading force, where is the invading force now? Terrorists don’t count IMO… |

LOL, I love how he leans the automatic rifle against the sofa. It could easily fall and discharge…it may even get the lot in one hit! hahahaha |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Reading greens, is there more to it? Personally if I want to get the ball close I take a glance from all four sides. You’d me amazed how many times a look at the slopes from the sides can put you on the right line. Also, feel the ground under your feet to gain an insight to the speed of the putt. |

Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend? Had a great game yesterday (early weekend). Played in the Toshiba corporate golf day and our team came out on top! We played on the Championship course at Sandhurst and it was a blast, perfect conditions and a perfect course. If your wondering who I am, I’m the fat redhead on the right… |

Topic: The Lounge / remote control Hi Manu, I have the Xbox360 Logitec Harmony universal remote, it is the best purchase I have made for a while though it is not as easy as 123. Firstly you need a PC with internet (faster broadband is better as every step of setting/re-setting up the remote is done online). Secondly there are a few steps involved but you can set up any remote regardless if it is on or not on the database, the remote can copy the IR signal of non supported remotes and you assign that to a button. The great thing about universal remotes is you get to set up macros, meaning you press 1 button to turn on/off many things in the order of your choice (which can sometimes make a difference) for example I have to turn on my set top box before I can choose the correct input on the tv otherwise the tv won’t recognise it, those are the types of idiosyncrasies you need to look out for but that is more to do with the appliances than the remote. Logitec is the one I would recommend over any others as they make quality stuff that they support. |

csshugg, People like you who have views such as this sicken me, I buried my older brother 15 years ago because he had a ‘friend’ like you. His best mate encouraged him to take recreational drugs and told him that it wouldn’t harm him. He made the mistake and took one pill, went to bed that night and never woke up (at least he didn’t suffer). I don’t care what you’ve take mate, what right do you have to say these things? Your an idiot for doing so and so is Johns. You can’t tell me that any of these recreational drugs are safe in any dosage, do you know what is in them and how they were made? Do you know where the proceeds go for selling these drugs? I reiterate, “You are an idiot and a fool” and the sooner you and your kind wake up to yourselves (or go to SE Asia) the better society will be. |

Topic: Golf Talk / TW PGA Tour '08 - Golf Game Hi ocat1979, I did put a retraction to that comment yesterday when I actually played the course and stated that I was mistaken, I have now edited the comment to be the National to avoid any further issues. :-) |

Topic: Golf Talk / worst shot you have seen a pro hit I saw Greg Norman skinny a ball through a bunker, he turned to abuse a photographer for taking a shot during the swing but as he was blasting the guy his ball popped out of the bunker and rolled into the hole! No matter how pissed of he was he couldn’t stop laughing. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Putters - is there THAT much difference?? There is another suggestion (maybe NigelO can help here). Try getting you putter fitted, Ben fitted my Wishon Smooth 6 putter and I haven’t looked back. The key benefits are: stopping the putter head twisting, getting the ball rolling quicker (this means more control) and improving the feel. Fitting is done with weights added in the head or the butt of the shaft but I’m no expert so there maybe more options here. |

Topic: Golf Talk / TW PGA Tour '08 - Golf Game I got my copy at EB Games on 28 August. Love the game so far, just a couple of issues: 1. Game Face not included in the PC version. 2. Cannot turn galleries off (they get in the way of everything) 3. Winnings seem to be a bit out of balance when you win a tournament (I won 1 million and can now buy anything) By the way I made a mistake on Moonah Links, it’s the National at Moonah. :-P |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Ball Advice !! ProV1’s are pretty much the ‘bees knees’, but they are a bit expensive. You could try the NX1 balls, they are a bit cheaper but they are also a bit firmer. I used to use the Maxfli Noodle, they can crack on you though. I look for a good wearing cover on a ball, don’t like it when they start flaking on you after the first couple of holes. Callaway also have a good ball that lasts and isn’t too hard. |

Agreed. Not only that, taking drugs is illegal, he admitted to 10 years of using, there should be some ramifications. I know there will be people out there that will say “everyone has the right to make their own errors in life” but that’s the whole problem! If you say this you’re making excuses for these people and making this socially acceptable. You may ask have you taken drugs? Well I can categorically say (placing my hand over my heart) “no, I have never taken drugs other than medication”. I haven’t even taken a drag from a cigarette and I don’t drink alcohol, and when I tell people this they say I am stupid for not trying! WTF?! So, I, my kids or your kids should be experimenting with drugs, because that is exactly what you are suggesting if you make any excuses for these people!!! I say “No thanks, keep your filthy drugs out of mine and my kids life!†|

Topic: Golf Talk / TW PGA Tour '08 - Golf Game Just noticed a problem with the PC version, no photo game face! (not that I should be putting on my ugly mug) I read in the official EA forum that they didn’t put this feature on because it’s classified as ‘next gen’ and the PC is classified as ‘current gen’...WTF!!! Since when can the Playstation3 or Xbox 360 match a current PC? Those guys at EA can make a good golf game but can’t make logical argument on this one, idiots. :( |

Topic: Golf Talk / TW PGA Tour '08 - Golf Game Just go this game for my son, I have to say that they have really improved the feel and realism of these games. I had the ‘04 game but it was getting a bit old and simple in the physics department, also it was a bit easy. This new instalment is much harder and looks to have enough content to last me another 4 years. Still not the real thing I know but it gives me and my boy some quality time together when we can’t make it to the course. Has anyone else played or is going to play it? I’d be interested to see if anyone here uses the P3Pro with the game. |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / tiger vs vijay To me the major difference is the ball position, if they had the same setup I think the swings wouldn’t be as different. Also the angle of the camera is not in the same position for both swings. For these comparisons to work they must be perpendicular to the golfer, Tiger is aiming further left than Vijay. |
