Topic: Golf Equipment / What's In Your Bag?

your burner 2009 …i assume it’s from eBay …! and it’s the bees knees for you now
how’s it vs the tour Burner and the burner 07 ?
in looks and performance….

If Tiger plays Lefty will he be that good ?
Square is Good ? Sure is, if it’s the right stick !
Good Golf is Fun plus the Great Outdoors…
In the Bag: Clubs and Balls. My Handicap is Bad Golf.

well used it today and loved it….didnt hit a demo but Its not a whole lot different to the burner…but the face isnt as shut as..I was hooking the burner….mainly went for it because I liked the feel of the orginal burner….the face is massive….

ball flight is ok..not too high…may reshaft it with a UST V2 59 Gram 45.5 inch shaft

hit a bomb with it one hole…..260 drive….I normally avergae about 220-225…I also like it because I dont feel like I have to rip it…its a very swing easy club

yes US ebay for $350 posted Oz…was pretty happy with that price, they didnt want to sell it to me but I kept hassling them…so cool with that

Topic: Golf Equipment / Callaway "Diablo" vs Taylomade Burner

Be very very careful what Launch monitors tell you…

Get a demo if you can and take it to a range and maybe play 9 holes with it…

that said internal weighted draw bias clubs do work..off set drivers work….shut faces work too,,,but getting lessons works best of all….and they are cheaper than a new stick!

but get the right fit too thats important also

Im off the 10 hugeslice….I’m decent driver not hugely long..bout 220-230 but dont miss too many fairways…..I was longer when I was younger but age (38) has slowed me slightly

yes I do in someways it may even benfiy the higher …

for one thing it has a heavier shaft, its alightly shorter shfat than the standard burner….1.25 inches shorter

most 20 markers slice…not all but many do, the tour burner is quite shut…the new 09 Burner which I used today isnt as shut as the tour burner (strange but true!)

hmmnot sure…its meant to be able to work the ball easier with a smaller head but cant see 10cc making a difference…

I have found any driver over 380cc to 460cc has been the same in terms of shot shaping

did consdier that…would get $600 with these shafts….hmmm $1150…for new clubs…..hmm thats $550….reshaft in DG’s will be about $350….sell the project X’s for $100 ish on ebay….

so all It will cost $200- $250 for reshaft….will cost me $550 for new clubs…..

thats why reshaft is better option

Topic: Golf Equipment / Burner 07 vs Tour Burner

aoddly enough I found the burner tour easier to hit…dont know why…shaft was one thing…its 10 grams hevaier and has a stiffer tip section

its a slightly smaller head

I found the burner tour really good when you put an 90% swing on it, this is true for many drivers though I suppose

I found the burner tour to be slightly longer…Im actually getting a buner 09….as its not as shut…I have seen the specs…and see the phtos and ben assured its not as shut…

At the moment Im actually hooking the burner tour…..

I repeat what I said beofre TM called this madel “tour” for makrketing purpose only..make the club player feel “hey Im using a tour club”...ego thing

I demoed the tour model and loved…hello ebay….

its essntially a burner 08 with a black head!

Advertise them in the Classifides section on this forum at a reasonable price, given length, flex, age, grip etc and I’m sure you will get some takers.

The key to success is to learn to do something right, then do it right every time. Oh I wish…..

thnanks…I have been ok with these shafts (project X 5.0) but a mate has a set or srixon I-701’s in DG 300R..and borrowed his irons for a session and was much happier with the ball flight

thats the shaft I had in my previous irons…and I loved them

thanks for the advice

Topic: Golf Equipment / titleist ap1

Trent

I play off 15 and recently tried the Ap1’s at the range several times. Found them great, a better ball flight to my current 775’s and more accurate. There was a big difference in ball flight and dispersion between the shaft options. I had a proper club fit and am currently waiting my new clubs

Steve

I was wondering what h/cap somone could have to use these…15 marker,,,I really though these were say 8 and below clubs…??

thats good…

Topic: Golf Equipment / Burner 07 vs Tour Burner

yes it does….

I have the burner tour…but I will actually go back to the burner 09 once thats released..I love the tour one though…

main difference is head size is 450cc ….shaft is heavier (stock 60 grams compared rto 49 grams in burner)

the shaft in the tour feels stiffereven though I use reg in both..I had the burner standard before this one

the ball flight is lower in the burner tour…but really its not a true tour driver…as it sits about 1 deg closed…that said they do make a tp burner tour too

I have always belived one thing about TM..they make pretty good drivers..but I wouldnt go near anything else in thier range….maybe a hat thats about it…..:-)

in WA….south

I priced a set of shafts on the web..and they were 27 each..so 27 times 8 = 216 for the shafts…..me thinks they would charge abour 10 bucks each club?

so would 300 be about right?

Im looking at 9 irons…I want to go to DG lite 300 or stabdard DG…I have currently got Project X 5.0…bbut not convinced they are for me…and neither is my PGA apporved coach…...

Im nearly 40 and my swing speed is slowing slightly

I saw these shafts advertised for $27 a shaft….waht will a golf shop charge? for same…I had DG’s in my wilson Pi5’s and loved them….

also once the PX’s have been pulled can I re-sell them?

Topic: Golf Talk / John Daly at the Masters

Yep spot on MW. 100k or whatever he is getting paid has already paid for itself already as I have seen that story on every major newspaper website in the last day plus it’s been on ours and others.

While Daly may shoot 80-83 that’s not the point – it means that the Australian Masters got mentioned when it would not have otherwise most likely.

Remember a full page ad in the Sydney Morning Herald is 44k, a front page banner internet campaign on Ninemsn is something like 20k or more.

The promoters aren’t stupid :)

Use your “Edit My Profile” link in the right hand sidebar to add in your signature

I agree…but the danger is yes your getting publicity and people will turn up and advertisers will jum on…but the event will be a joke with him playing….all the media will be about his 83..and not a young players 68…and thats sad…if Kulacz shoots 68 and Daly 83…guess who gets the hedlines…...this tourny doesnt need Daly

hes playing no better than 4 marker who can hit it a long way at your club…....

heres a better idea…..give away 500 free tickets to school children for the thursday or friday round (Like cricket Australia does)...get the kids thriough the gate..from that you get another 100 budding golfers who become hooked…from that we may get another star….

the kids will drag thier parents along…..

daly will bring instant glorification….but no long term sustainability or value adding to the tornament …..Imsorry this is a silly decision if they have paid him any money…..if they have paid him one cent tthen they are fools

Topic: Golf Talk / New to all this .....

Having played a little when I was in my teens, I have found myself back drawn to the game of golf.

Yet after a terrible round, correction disgusting 9 holes at Phillip Island – I want to start again

I got clubs and I’m planning on picking up a Golf Access so I can get a handicap also looking at finding a coach …. but where should start ???

I live in East Melbourne

My tip would be this just go out and play…dont worry about a coach just yet…maybe get a lesson here and there…but dont go to hard core into it…just enjoy the game…the more you enjoy it the more youll want to become a better player….
